Nice enough place, just bad timing

I thought I'd give Avenues another shot after about seven months away. The last time I was there was an evening visit, and I remember having a pretty good time. However, this visit was during daylight hours, and I wasn't sure if I'd have the same luck.

There is parking available on the street in front of the club, and also a gravel lot in the back, right across Elizabeth Street. It's located in a fairly decent part of town, near the train station. I always feel fairly safe parking in the lot, although there doesn't appear to be anyone monitoring it.

I arrived just before 4:00 PM. The bar itself is a friendly, welcoming, not-quite-a-dive type of place. Once inside the door you walk down a hallway (where the bathrooms are located) to the main room.
