Former Honey's dancer

Honey's Showgirls

I worked at Honey's for 13 years. Unfortunately the last few I was unable to do stages anymore due to a back injury.( That I'm actually on disability for now.) Anyway, when at a place that long the girls kinda become like family. Even some of the customers that are regulars you know their story and actually start to care. Some actually become friends. I was sorry to see Honey's go, even though I had retired from it a few years beforehand. Some of the girls I'm still friends with, and even one of the customers. Remember you get what you put in.. treat people with respect and have it reciprocated. Everyone is just trying to make a living and get by in this world. I learned early on, that being touching is a basic human need, and some of the gentleman that came in, only had that need met, or a caring convenient with someone attentive who listens, by coming into the club. One of my customers who I didn't see at one point for a year, finally came in, and it had turned out his wife had just died after a fight with cancer she unfortunately lost and he had been taking care of her. He was very sad. I remember him telling me that all of his friends had been her friends too, so he couldn't talk with anyone without the subject being about her. See sometimes, people just need someone to listen to them. It's not always about a dance. Wether customer or dancer, we are all just people. Treat people the way you'd like to be treated.
