Brief Summer Blowout

Came in on another Summer afternoon seeking brief shelter from H-town heat and brain damage of the office. This was my second visit after my initial one about a month prior on a Wednesday. I had intended it to be a short visit, but I would soon learn a lesson in just how brief a scouting missing can be cut short.

I arrived probably not long after noon. The parking lot is the classic gated style to go along with the lion-statue-ridden Greek facade. No valet of course and the typical handful of cars. Always feels safe, if drab, around here basically surrounded by looming warehouses and industrial sprawl.

A different door-girl this time, still very friendly and professional and paid the $8 cover. No ID check this time around. She was having a fairly animated conversation with a guy who was leaving as I came in and he seemed very friendly as well, just another quiet day-shift.
