Very DC - overpriced and underdelivered, but probably someplace I will return to

Back in DC for work. Last time I was here, I visited Camelot and thought it was a decent time. This time I’m staying a walking distance away from Cloackroom so decided to check it out on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Review below covers both days.

There is security right outside, checks my ID and sends me up the stairs. Paid the $20 cover and went in. The setup is one large stage that is basically attached to the bar area. There is vip seating on the stage side and maybe 15 smaller tables on the bar side. I popped down at a bar side table. Waitress came to take my drink, everything priced at about what you would expect for DC (I.e., overpriced) but I got a beer and took in the sights. There were maybe 15 people there total. The entire space is not that big. There was a party with 5 or so guys, maybe bachelor, in one of the booths that is at the end of the stage. They had two attractive girls (7 range) locked up for most of the time I was there. I watched a half dozen girls cycle through the stage and there was one blonde with a tattoo that I thought was closer to an 8 by my standards. All the other girls were in the 5-6 range, nice mix of ethnicity and size so you can probably find what you are into. I went up to the stage and tipped her a few bucks, got her attention for a bit and we chatted while she danced, but some other guy came up and tipped plenty and I lost her. When she got off stage, she went and found that other guy and I decided to head out since I had work the next day.

Came back on Thursday, same time but nothing to do the next day other than catch a flight. That same blonde was on stage again, I went up and tipped her and she remembered me from the night before. She came buy to chat and I bought her two drinks. Turns out there are no lap dances on the floor at all and basically no touching that I’m aware of. She tried to sell me on a private room but was quoting $500 for 30 minutes. That seemed excessive for someone I had already spent $40 talking to and who had not demonstrated much to tell me the dance would be worth it. I decided to pass and she went away kind of disgruntled. All the other girls there were not as attractive in my opinion. And it was Thursday around 9 and the place was starting to fill up. Decided to try my luck at another club since the night was still young.
