After an abscence of just over...

After an abscence of just over a year, I dropped by on whim, somewhat early on a Wed night.

Probably a bad move. The place was nearly empty - of both customers and dancers. Everyone must still be away on holidays. Whatever. A few cute, young girls danced on stage, but barely acknowledged you if you dropped some $$ on the stage. And most didn't come down to the floor after doing their dance. The ones that did hung in a group down the back and showed no interest in working the floor. I guess there was more going on in the dressing room! Hard to get a drink too - not that the wairtresses were busy.

Worst news was finding out my old favorite, JC, was no longer working there. I used to enjoy meeting her for a drink before things got too busy and she had to get to work. I packed it in. Outside, the building across the road, long the home of the sleazy Glass Slipper, had been demolished, completely. Didn't seem like old times!
