Pleasant, convenient club with ok dancers and dances

Red Garter is in downtown Indy, just a few blocks from the convention center and football stadium. As such, it's by far the most convenient of the Indianapolis clubs if you're staying downtown. You can get there with a short walk. I'm not sure where you'd park if you didn't use a downtown ramp, and there was no obvious valet sign. Cover (at 10:00pm on Wednesday) was $5, and I was given a ticket for free re-entry later (which was honored when I left at 11 and returned at midnight).

It's a decent-sized club, with a high ceiling and three medium sized stages surrounded with chairs. Rather than groups of tables with chairs in the rest of the floor, there are wing-back upholstered chairs arranged in rows, almost like a theater. The seats were comfortable, but not always well placed for watching the stage. There's a bar near the front and a separate one at the back of the club, the latter with a few chairs.

The stage show was pretty good. Dancers got topless, and most of them put some effort into a performance or interaction, though only a couple had any particular talent on the pole. Waitresses circulated. My water was $5. They had mixed drinks for $9, though I think those were on special, so I don't know if that's typical.
