I was at this club during...

I was at this club during the evening of November 2, while on business in Springfield, our lovely state capital. As such, this club was a "target of opportunity" for me, and under no circumstances would I recommend making a special trip to go to this club. It is a small club in a large building, some of which is also occupied by a porno/lingerie store. I have a prejudice against DVs because of a bad experience in the Las Vegas location about ten years ago, and nothing that happened at Springfield changed my opinion. The club seems as formulaic about making money as a MacDonald's or a chain supermarket. The "buy the lady a drink?" hustle survives here long after it has died out in most clubs. This is particularly annoying when there are few customers in the club, and multiple girls sit at your table. I suspect that management has some target duration of time that a dancer can spend consuming one drink, so that the waitress can sell you another. In addition, as a dancer confessed to me, any time that the dj announces a two-for-one special, all dancers are obliged to hound customers until they find someone to take them up on it, or the special is over.

The worst part of the club is that it prohibits touching by the customers. As I have said on this board before, I believe that a "no touch" strip joint is like a "no eat" restaurant. To add insult to injury, a dancer made me put my hands behind my head as I laid on a bed. As I see it, if I find out about a "no touch" policy too late to avoid paying for a dance, that is my problem; on the other hand, I am a grown man, and if a dancer tells me that is the rule, I can follow it without having to endure "hand checks" like a horny sixteen year old.

For you afficianados of the rail, this club offers little entertainment, as the dancers do not really interact with the customers other than to solicit tips. On the night I was there, a couple of dancers did mess around with the stray female customer at the rail, but "the Stevie" does not seem to exist at this club.
