Shimmers is a Monument to America's Obesity Crisis

My visit to Shimmers on a Sunday evening was a terrible waste of time. I do not recommend it unless you fetishize obese women. It is more akin to a locals bar for fat fetishists than a SC.

The building is in a seedy area of town. The bar's "security" guard was standing outside, blocking part of the sun. The only thing he's securing is his next sandwich. He checked ID but did not scan. No cover.

My impressions of the interior were carpet, padded chairs, red lights, and bar memorabilia on the walls. Not a bad place. Potentially a cozy spot to nurse some beers. It was appropriately dim without feeling like a cave. Overall, the place was smallish and close. The three-sided bar took up the right side of the room, while the one stage with two poles took up the longer wall opposite the door.
