Good first time back at ye olde Hi Liter

Hey look, another review of Hi Liter...

Hadn't been here in quite a while (haven't worked downtown for almost 18 months, and I live way out in the west side, near Xplicit, which...I cannot for the life of me understand why it does not get better reviews - I've always had a great time there, so I guess I should do a review after the next time.....anywho, I digress)... had a few days off, so I stopped in to HL yesterday (7/6/21) a little after 12pm. Walked in, was opening my wallet to pull out the ID, and the guy just said 'have fun, man', and kinda lifted his arm as if to gesture 'open sesame'. Weird. Always been carded, and I'm not 'old' - 40, look a few years younger. Anywho, stop me if you've heard this before: walk in, ATM and bar off to the right, VIP areas off to the left, tables and chairs in the middle, stage in the back, bathrooms in the back left. Yes, there's a dude handing out paper towels at 1230pm on a Tuesday in July (what terrible life choices did he make!?!). Two-for-one drinks, so I ordered a Jim Beam and Coke... $10. No idea what other stuff costs because I don't go into a bar to drink water or soda or cranberry juice. Floor dances $10, VIP $25. Parking lot was half-empty, and it was a bright, sunny hot summer day in metropolitan Phoenix. I couldn't get up on the roof or inspect the ceiling inside, so I'm not sure if there are any roof leaks, and didn't inquire as to the age of the building, so I dunno...maybe there's lead-based paint or asbestos, so enter at your own risk, I suppose... (Enough club details?)
