keep the receipts

Was in Detroit for work and was looking to shake off a little of the pandemic fatigue. So somewhere where I could just turn my mind off for a bit and enjoy the nice sights. The first part is not something that be easily done at a place like this. Flight Club is one of the nicer clubs in the Detroit suburbs, but boy is it also one of the most expensive. You very much so need to keep an eye on how much they are spending and how much they are charging you. That night because of the pandemic they were charging 30$ covers after 11 pm. I clearly walked in at 1045 pm to pay the 15$ cover...and they tried to charge me 30$! After I called them out on that they acquiesced. Then they did the old look up and down staunchly at me and tugging at my clothes. Was wearing my fly uniqlos and khakis. They told me I had to change, so I ran to my car and put on a nice dress shirt and sweater. They then asked me if I was okay because my baseball cap wasn't placed perfectly perpendicular on my head?

So yes as just an average dude, it is a bit strange seeing like half a dozen dudes when you walk in acting like Simon Cowells on roids commenting on dudes. Why? Were they bored? Were they feeling petty and feminine? But anyway I digress, most guys come in here to see the women right, so on we go and proceed.

In comes a decent looking waitress not particularly thin though I think her named started with a J. Asked me what I wanted, I just wanted a simple beer. Will be 9$...okay that's a lot for 1 beer, but that's the going rate there. I gave her a 20. 25 minutes later guess what. No J giving me my change. Really 20$ for one beer? Anyone work at a supermarket can tell me how many miller lights you can buy for 20$? Finally she gives me a 10 back begrudgingly, and without even batting an eye lash. This has to be some sort of talent or something. Because as a fair and professional person. If I treated customers or just any plain other human beings like this, I would feel apologetic and so ashamed for even longer than the full 90 seconds of our interactions for the whole night. So yes that is how my first 45 minutes kind of went at the club. About 45$ tips and expenses (valet is also 8) and being treated like that. They wouldn't even put on any one of the dozens of tv, the nba playoffs but hey I guess that doesnt make them any money.
