Spring Thaw Could Lead to a Hot Summer @ HL

Like the others that have reviewed HL since the Gov ended the mask mandate, I went without any real expectations except that I don't have to walk in with a diaper on my face. I've been to the club numerous times before and so this trip was more of just a scouting mission to see if 1) the floor dances were at all what they used to be before lockdown; and 2) VIP was back in swing. I can report that VIP is open and in the time I was there, I did see one or two guys go back to VIP. But if the few number is any indication of the quality of the VIP, then it still has a long way to go. Not that I was timing them, but the guys that I saw go back to VIP didn't stay long. I think one of the guys just wanted to check it out since he couldn't have been back there for even one full song. But who knows. What's clear is that HL is on its way back, but still has a long way to go.

For those who haven't been to HL before, there is no cover in the afternoon and the temp checks & mask checks are gone. A few guys and dancers still had masks they wore off and on (a couple dancers were wearing masks when they were just sitting on the mirror side playing with their phones, but would take them off when making the rounds to see if anyone wanted dances.) Once inside in the afternoon (I don't know how evenings are after 7pm) everything feels pretty much the same - 2 for 1 drink specials, bathroom troll, one hot waitress, several overweight dancers that should really think about a different career, two or three dancers who are 7-9s, etc. I may go back on Friday afternoon now that the weather here in Phoenix is warm turning to hot (almost 100º the other day!) Fridays historically have been fun afternoons at HL - we'll see if the fun returns. Stay tuned...
