Red Garter is on Duval Street, which is sort of a party street of bars, restaurants and stores, vaguely similar to Bourbon Street in New Orleans, without the foul stench. This makes it easy to get to on foot from much of the west part of Key West. I think parking would be a challenge; there's some on Duval but it was mostly full when I was there, and there are no lots to use.

I arrived just before 10:00pm on a Friday. Cover charge was $5, and I was given a cursory pat down by the large gentleman taking the door fee. I bought a bottle of water and want to say it was about $5, but I don't recall exactly. The club is narrow and surprisingly deep. From the entrance there's a narrow room with a stage on the right and a bar on the left. If you keep walking back there are two other sections like that (small stage plus bar) as well as a hallway with a door that I think led to some lap-dance spaces. In the far back there's a section for regular dances, and some stairs going up to VIP sections, which I didn't see. The stages had stools along them, and there were a few high-top tables with chairs in the front room, but that was about it for seating. Lots of people were just standing.

In the back room, at least, there were mirrors along the walls so if you sat at one of the stage stools you could watch the dancers directly and in their reflection. That offered a decent view. The stage performances were pretty good. There weren't any pole tricks (except a few minor ones on the front stage), but the dancers moved to the music, combined some dance moves with floor work, etc.. Stage-side tips led to some close-up dancing and a few motorboats.
