Well, what the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said of rivers (you can't step in the same river twice)---is also true of strip clubs. You can't step into the same club twice. Things change.
I had pretty much given up on this place. It is too odd. Strange. Generally, the entertainers don't mingle with the customers and pretty much expect you to request a dance when they are done dancing on the stage. From there you go sit on the "Group W" bench and wait for the dancer to freshen up and come out and take you to the VIP. Those minutes sitting on the bench feel oddly like being sent to the Principal's office.
The club itself is run-down and it has a wagon wheel, Western motif to it. If this place wasn't a strip club, it would probably function as a cheap Bonanza style steak joint.
The club also has fallen on hard times financially---probably due to the ill repair of the place and the strange customs that make this club not feel very welcoming. They have raised their admittance prices to $32 bucks on a Sunday night.
Actually, this club has all the ingredients to be successful. It services hundreds of thousands of people who have no other club to attend all the way to the California border. The club is in a college town that is well known, and even written up by Playboy once, as a party town. And with the destruction of Paradise in the Camp Fire, there are lots of men who drive the hundreds of dump trucks, well-paid, that are hauling the refuse of Paradise to the dump. This place should be packed.
Chico needs a good strip club so I gave it another go. Gotta do my best to patron the local businesses.
I was pleasantly surprised.
They have had an influx of very attractive, friendly dancers that have created a much more relaxing and enticing environment. Some will actually come out on to the floor and jabber with you for a bit. They vary in age, some are quite young, whereas I prefer the dancers that are a bit more mature. They seem to enjoy each other and also enjoy their work.
They used to have $10 lap dances on Sunday and Wednesday nights. Now Sunday is the only $10 night. It depends upon the dancer, but most do not allow touching. However, for the price it is still worth it and most dancers provide a fairly decent dance. I have a ATF right now who certainly works very hard to please this customer.
However, this place still has the weird vibe about it. The biker bouncer can be a bit too zealous in making sure that no "no touch" rules are being violated. This does seem to be relaxing a little bit though.
Just goes to show that it is worth giving a place another chance once and awhile. All it take is for a few talented dancers to show up with the right attitude to create a friendly and entertaining experience. After all, isn't that what we are looking for?
So for now, this club is worth checking out. Especially on a Sunday night.
