Shakers Back in Operation

Just wanted to let everyone know that Club Shakers in La Motte is back in operation. They are only open on the weekends (Fri/Sat) and is very much a local bar. They are in a small town in Iowa off the beaten path. The only thing going for them is that there are the only game in town between the Quad Cities and Minnesota/Wisconsin basically.

Think local dive bar with a local blue-collar crowd, friendly but everyone may know everyone, type of crowd. Most of the dancers are local in the general area but they do get one or two girls who drive up from the Quad Cities. Mileage depends on the girl. It seems they are more interested in hanging out, drinking, and playing pool.

Cover was $10 I believe and dances at $20 per dance. Not expensive but not a deal either. I don't think anyone would drive all that way up to La Motte just go to Shakers but if you are in the area and want to see the countryside you may find it acceptable.
