Not as nice as it should be at these prices

I have only recently returned to clubbing, after several years out of the strip-club scene. But I feel like Penthouse hasn't changed very much in the interim.

Just a week ago, I stated in a review for this club that the super-hottest dancers in New Orleans generally show up dancing at Penthouse. This may still be true, but I didn't experience that on a Wednesday night late when I arrived as a night-cap. I had spent the previous part of my night with the locals in the neighborhood-feel club Visions, out in New Orleans East (see review) and came through the French Quarter just to see what the vibe was like, whether there was a crowd or not.

They charged me $12 cover, which is ridiculous of course, but everything at Penthouse is ridiculously high priced. I scored "value" for this review very low not because I disliked what I bought for the money, but because I disliked the fact that I had to spend way too much money for what I bought. A mixed-drink was $12.25, a silly amount, why not just say $13? or $12? and a very high amount, I'd rather they said $7. or $5. Anyway, it was strong, I accidentally (was I THAT drunk?) gave the bartender TWO bills at $20 each, she did not try to steal or swap or fast-change one, she just asked why I was doing that, pointed it out to me, I said whoops, so then she returned the extra bill and gave me fair change for the $20-$12.25=$7.75, so that is points in her favor. She has been working there for a long time, I recognized her from my previous experiences many years ago before I took such a hiatus from strip-clubbing.
