Topless Biker Bar
Heard about this place for a while, sounded like a dumpy Brooklyn biker bar with some topless Suicide Girls behind the counter (which it is). A little out of the way for me, but my buddy swore it was worth it, and he was driving, so why not give it a shot?
Pumps is in an industrial, desolate part of Williamsburg. We got there between 9 and 10pm. You enter up a small flight of steps to the open bar where a bouncer scans your ID into some wall-mounted verification system. No idea if they save the scans, or who else can even see it, but it's on public display for a moment and I get why that makes some people uncomfortable. We didn't flinch too much and were in without hassle. We also didn't pay cover.
What you see is what you get. One big room, lit like a sports bar not a club. On the right is a long bar from front to back, behind it dancers grind to rock music on poles in front of mirrors. Floor space is open with a couple small tables and stools at the opposite wall. In the back is a small curtained area for lap dances. We sat at the bar, which in this place means forking over dollars on an extremely constant basis. Girls don't even dance half the time before they start hounding you. At first there were only 4 or 5 dancers, maybe 2 were attractive.
