Good time at the Rose

Visited the Rose right at opening time on a weekday in February. It was an easy walk from my hotel (there were a few good places to stay on the beach near here) and there were more folks inside given the combination of off season and early. The gent at the front reminded me that if you have a military id they give you on break on the cover fee.

The layout of the club was a little weird, as the pole was on a really low stage, barely higher than the floor. The bar was nice, but not well situated to watch the stage. There were a few tables also, which maybe would have been better.

But, the first and only real problem I had with the Rose was this. When I walked in, there was nobody dancing. I figured they were just getting set up and the show would start shortly. Well, over a half hour later and a beer in, I was ready to leave when finally a dancer took the stage.
