Gave It Another Try
I stopped by for another try since the change from Columbus Gold to Scores. I was not sure how long I would stay, as my last visit wasn't so great. I grabbed a chair and decided to have a bottle of water and see what developed.
I certainly miss the old club, and I think I figured a few reasons why. The new layout has a "fast food" feel to it, rather than the warm, intimate decor of old. It also seems as though many of the dancers now have the same fast food attitude as well. As I was sitting there, something hit me. It was the TV screens . . . I mean there are TV screens EVERYWHERE ~ no matter where you look . . . lots of them all lined up with different programs playing. Don't get me wrong - There should be some screens. The Old Gold had several, but there are so many now that it becomes a distraction and tends to ruin any mood or conversation.
All was not lost though. I was about to split when a nice girl sat down and started chatting. I asked her if we could move toward the upper rear lever, away from the TV's, and with that we had a nice conversation that led to several dances. . . Because it was Sunday, dances were $10.00 each, which is a good deal compared to regular pricing.
