A steady experience
Was driving by the area on a Saturday afternoon a few weeks back, and decided to drop in at the Playhouse. I hadn't been there since the building paint job, so was surprised at the bright pink building - can't miss it now from the road! Easy to get to, easy to park, I like the no hassle aspect of getting in and out of here, and with the BYOB policy and licquer stores close-by you can even save a little money on expensive drinks.
Inside, nothing much has changed, and that's exactly what i was looking for. Two section stage in the middle of a long room surrounded by the bar, Recent attempts to liven it up with lights and posters and tv's on the wall have helped a lot, not as much as a dive as it used to be, although nothing too fancy either. Men's room cleaner than it used to be, but all pretty basic.
Bartender seems new, and she's friendly and very attentive, maybe too much so, I gave her my six-pack to put on ice, and she kept opening a new one before I finished the last one - ended up with full beers on the bar when i went for a dance. Just have to keep an eye on that in the future, but better than having to wave her down.
