The Flamingo has recently undergone a remodel. The stage is now in the very center of the club, and is well-lit. This is a huge change for the better - it makes the stage the center of attention (literally) and the club doesn't feel nearly as "seedy" as it maybe used to. They also seem to have gotten new tables and chairs - all of the broken or worn out wobbly tables or chairs have been tossed and replaced with newer ones. While the "Dirty Bird" isn't a top notch club, it is now a solid middle of the road place, up from its previous position as something of a low-tier place. It had been in the low tier for a long while largely due to neglect and hiring a spate of too many unattractive, over the hill, or unmotivated dancers. Let's hope this is a sign of better things to come.

But enough about that: What was my experience like? In a word, excellent. There weren't many dancers working when I went (after 11pm on a Friday night) and there wasn't a huge crowd either, but the dancers were all quite attractive. I spent most of the evening with a very cute petite AA dancer who's name escapes me. The VIP experience is still very good, one of the best lapdances in the KC-Lawrence-Topeka area. Maybe even the best overall in that aspect. Mileage is high. Extras may be possible, but it depends on the dancer. Regardless, the mileage is definitely high. The ladies are eager to please. There is an incredibly cute black waitress there that I wish would dance - she has a great body and was wearing some nice short shorts that I couldn't take my eyes off of. I'll give her props for being a good waitress though, but I sure would love to see "more" of her.

If you haven't been to the Flamingo recently, I say give it another shot. With the entire club basically remodeled now (the VIP area was remodeled some time ago, the main club area only very recently) it's a nice place now. The dancers have positive attitudes, which I hope is reflective of management taking care of them. In the past this had been a problem - this club had not been known for being a good place to work for dancers, and I hope that's changing. I still long for the glory days of the late-1990s and early-2000s, when this was one of the absolute top clubs around, but it's still a great place to go. The last two times in a row I've been I had a great experience. I will be back soon. Hope third time is the charm?
