Got to GQ around 8pm on...
Got to GQ around 8pm on a Friday night. I hadn't been to this club in over a year. Not much had changed. The door was $15. Drinks are $8+. Ladies drinks are all $16 of which the girls get a cut. Lap dances are $30 paid to the house of which the dancer gets around half + tip which is expected. The lap dances are given behind a partition, with not much supervision except that they are timed at 4 min and interrupted by the bouncer when the time expires. There were about 8 or so dancers when I walked in the door. Most were in the 5-6 range, with maybe 1 or 2 7's walking around. There were only about 4 or 5 customers in the house. Seemed pretty quiet for a Friday night. With that few customers it was a target rich environment. Dancers trickled in as the evening progressed with the dancer quality improving, but not much better than a 7 or so. At about midnight, when I left, there were around 15+ dancers, about 50% African American, with the balance being Latina, White, and one Korean.
I sat at the bar as close to the stage as possible. the stage is round about 8' across and 2' high with one pole in the middle. Dancers do a 4 song set, either topless or not, at their individual discretion. There's a VIP area which is quite expensive. I got about 4 full contact lap dances from different dancers throughout the night. But spent most of my time tipping dancers at the stage which allowed for minimal groping. However, I was allowed very reasonable mileage from dancers attempting to sell me, practically lap dancing at my bar stool, especially if I forked out the $16 for a drink. You have to figure a burn rate of about $75-$90/hour, which although expensive, I found to be worth it since I was rarely without a girl in my lap for the entire time I was there.
