Very different experience than I had...

Very different experience than I had the last time I was in the area, back in September. Physically the place hasn't changed, of course. Well-lit bar when you come in, then a larger area containing the strip club. The strip club part wasn't quite as dark as last time: it was easy enough to find a seat and to see whether it was occupied before sitting down. Lighting on the stage is fine, unlike some clubs where you can't see the dancers. Still, the dancers only pay attention to people sitting at the rail. I don't like sitting there because it makes me feel like a perv, and at a lot of clubs the expectation is that people will approach when they want to tip, and otherwise sit at the tables. I prefer that approach, but here if you do that, you end up standing like an idiot for a long time waiting for the dancer to notice you. So, pervert or idiot, take your pick.

I was there about 2 hours, only one dancer asked me for a dance. Sure, I could have approached others, but my feeling is that when they don't ask, the dance is generally not worth having. Onme or two came by to thank me after I tipped, and others I never tipped because - see above. What's the point of thanking someone for a tip and then not asking for a dance? They don't make much on stage. Most of the dancers socialized at the bar, or in the back of the club room. Got several dances from one woman, then eventually got ran off by the gratuitous older chick who should have stopped years ago, and clearly is desperate. More medium-sized dancers this time than last, at least half black, unlike the last time when they were all white. A couple I definitely would have gotten dances with, if they'd come by or asked. Good monetary value because I left with most of what I'd brought; at $25 per dance it's not as good a deal if you can actually get someone to dance for you.
