I have been making Visions my mostly-regular club for several years now. I choose it because it's the best that New Orleans has to offer, but it really isn't anything ultra-special. The staff is very attentive and decent to me, remembers me and my preferred drink, thanks me, all that stuff, so I have no complaints there. And the dancers are very personable, sharing whatever type of stories seem to be appropriate for my personal "style" of evening that I'm having, and some of them are fairly hot-looking, too, so I have few complaints there either. It's just that nothing at Visions is ultra-stellar. There are few (if any) girls who rate a 9 or 10; there isn't amazing lap-dancing; the prices aren't really wonderfully low (though they certainly aren't as high as at any of the French Quarter clubs, where gouging tourists is the rule not the exception, even if the "tourist" victim is from New Orleans!). It's a long danged way out there, and there's nothing else nearby (except a coffee factory, an African-American high-service "shake joint," and a few gas stations). It's in a dive-like neighborhood. The parking lot is only oyster shells, not paved. They have the stupid walk-along-the-bar system which requires you to tip $1 to every flea-bitten overweight middle-aged non-cougar who is willing to walk it. It's not ideal. :P
I think if the girls were of higher looks and dancing-skills caliber, they would probably mostly move on to the FQ, or to other cities, since Visions really is just a "locals" joint. I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of contact and level of willingness that some of the ladies have demonstrated lately. I used to think of Visions as the squeaky-clean sort of place (well, I thought of it that way only within the ubiquitous and necessary recognition that everybody, man woman and child, has his price!). But now I'm thinking there are a few more liberties being tolerated there. You have to find the right girl and be circumspect about it, and I'm certainly not saying that the club is "officially" the sort of place where you can get high service. But I have gotten to where I'm not going home utterly frustrated, now, and that makes it a more enjoyable experience.
For Visions, rate it tops in New Orleans. But if it were in Vegas or Tampa yet still showing this level of quality dancers, it would probably go out of business. Then again, it would probably draw better-looking dancers, if it were in Vegas or Tampa, so there's not really any good reason to complain.
