An unexpected trip to Edmonton to...
An unexpected trip to Edmonton to kick a contractor's ass had me stuck overnight in the gritty wasteland of Edmonton's north west quadrant. I was in the mood for a booze-up and where better than a SC to satisfy this urge? The closest club to my hotel is now out of business so I took a cab to this joint.
Not a wise decision! This place is NOT a SC. It is a tacky tavern attached to a lousy truckers' hotel in one of the ugliest areas of Edmonton. There are strippers here but certainly not Alberta's first division. No lap dances and the stage shows exhibited none of the exuberance usually found in Alberta clubs. The dancers still expected their due in tips in the form of the moronic loonie/toonie toss so prevalent in Alberta clubs. If giving each of these skanks a roll of loonies ($25) when they clambered on stage at the start of their sets to go away and save my eyes the piercing pain of watching them disrobe - I WOULD HAVE DONE SO!! They certainly weren't getting a tip from me while my guts were gurgling from the unedifying sights I had just seen.
Well, surely the booze-up part must have gone well, you say? Unhappily not. I ordered a jug of draft and was served a jug of flat, luke warm beer. It must have been poured at noon and kept on the back counter for my arrival at 7:00PM. A replacement? According to my charming server, not likely since I had poured a glass and sucked down half of the glass before my stomach protested at the dreck I had been sold.
