The most comprehensive beginner's guide to Tijuana you've ever seenThis thread still gets some traction after a year, so I felt like giving a small update to it:
The HK experience has been going down recently. As far as I can tell, management seems to be cracking down on costs, fichas, and rules. A $10 ficha had a girl sitting in my lap with some very subtle grinding, but nothing impressive. You often will not get a full ficha (will a lapdance and open touching) unless you buy a wine ($30), and even then I don't know. Many girls also quote higher prices for arribas, with many starting at $120 iirc. It isn't clear to me if this is due to Mexican inflation, HK management, or both. You should have an easy time negotiating down to $100, but it varies from girl to girl and day to day. Once you're in an arriba, they are just as good as they've usually been in my experience - it's mostly the experience on the main floor that's been degrading.
If you are new to TJ it is probably still worth seeing, and they probably still have the best overall experience (with a built-in restaurant, bar outside of the club, and the Zona Norte shuttle). Just know that, based on personal experience and other recent HK reviews, things aren't like they were a year ago (when this article was first written). All of the instructions about how to get to HK and return to the border have not changed. If you want to keep track of how HK is doing, explore the reviews on TUSCL. If you're finding the HK experience lacking, consider heading over to Chicago Club: there seems to be a consensus that they are the #2 club. Just remember that you will have to pay a little extra for each arriba (to pay for the room).
I was hoping to make a new TJ guide every year because I love TJ that much. Unfortunately, due to work reasons, I've moved too far to visit frequently. I hope to continue to visit and leave reviews but don't expect an undated guide from me any time soon. If someone else wants to take up the mantle, I wish you luck.
Thank you for your time and attention.

Planning a late summer trip. Some questions. I posted a beginner's guide to tijuana some time last year. If you look up "The most comprehensive beginners guide to tijuana tuscl" on google it should show up. At this point its a little outdated, but it's the closes I've seen of a FAQ for Tijuana mongering. This is not a plug, as I gain no benefit from people reading my post - its free. Since then I've been to TJ around 6 times now, so I have a bit more experience. To add to some of your questions and clear up some possible miscommunications:
Whenever people say that an arriba is $100, that is assuming you already have a room. If you do not have a room for that establishment, then you have to pay a room fee on top of the $100. As someone stated above, they are fairly strict with your time in the arriba if you are renting the room for one arriba. If you are taking the room for the night, they are pretty lax. I've had a girl in my room for like 80ish minutes (on a slow Monday) and no one batted an eye.
In my experience in Hong Kong, I've felt perfectly safe all the time I am inside the building. I'll usually pocket my extra cash in a corner of the closet or something. There are safes in every room, but I've been too lazy to figure them out and have had zero problems. That being said, many have vouched for the Hotel Cascadas safes.
I've been to TJ a number of times now and have never been bothered or anything close to mugged. That being said, stay safe - if it's dark out, don't be wasted, know where you're going, avoid unnecessary eye contact, and walk with purpose. Always keep one hand on your wallet, and don't carry anything you're not willing to lose (to a stripper or a gunman).
As others have stated, there isn't really a great way to ask a girl how close to a GFE they will provide without a conversation with them. If you are lucky she will speak English and you can just ask her. More likely you will have to guess based on a ficha or attempt Google Translate. In my experience, the girls will be more patient with Google Translate on slower days (i.e. not a weekend), but you can certainly try. Not like they're going to kick you out or something.
If you get the VIP you get a free drink every 12 hours at Hong Kong. You are not obligated to drink your drink - you can just carry it with you as long as you stay in the club or Hotel Cascadas. If you have a drink in hand or at your table (if you can find an empty one) the meseros won't bother you for a drink. Definitely annoying, but them's the rules. Note that it may not be in your favor to get the Hong Kong VIP depending on which days you are staying and how long. In my beginner guide, I link a spreadsheet about whether or not the VIP will be worth it for you. Last I checked all of the numbers are up to date.
The first few times I went to Hong Kong I always took a cab ($5-10 + tip if you want). Now I always take the limo ($0 + tip if you want). I usually tip the limo guy like $5 - this is still cheaper than taking the cab. There are two main downsides when taking the limo to Hong Kong: 1) It's kind of hard to find. When you head out of PedEast and see the cabs, turn right and keep going past the parking lot till you see a line of food stalls/shacks (if you are on a bridge, you've gone too far). If you follow the line of food stalls/shacks, the black "zona norte" shuttle shack will be on your right. If you see a long line of people, they're trying to enter into the USA - just move past them on the right. If this all sounds confusing, that's because it kind of is. Consider taking the cab - it's only a few dollars more and you won't get lost. You can ask the limo driver to point out the shack to you when you come back from Hong Kong. 2) You may have to wait up to 15 minutes for the next limo.
Note that if you bring a girl from a different club to your hotel (for example, a Chicago Club girl to Hotel Cascadas, the Hong Kong club) there will be a large fee: $300 iirc. If you want to arriba with a Chicago Club girl, just pay for a room - it will be cheaper.
I am planning to update the Beginner Guide at some point this year or early next year. If you have any other questions feel free to ask them here or DM me - I want to know what questions first-timers have. Just know I will probably take like a week to respond. Or two if you are unlucky.

Looking to try new placesI'm always surprised by how much traction there is in this discussion board. At this point, I guess I'm underestimating y'all. Thank you all for the recomendations, I'll see how many other clubs/bars I can see before it gets too dark for me to feel comfortable. As for some of the questions:
I don't want to ride a cab/uber because I want to explore the area around revolucion first. There's a lot to see, and I wanted to confine my search. If I feel satisfied, I might consider ubering out next time.
I know it's cheap in TJ, and I appreciate that. However, I only have so much money to spend and I want to make sure I get as much as I can out of it. Ergo, I'm not looking to arriba outside of HK, but I could be convinced when I get there.
I'll be sure to ask some of the girls there for some recommendations. I doubt my Spanish is good enough to spend a meal with a girl, but it's fun to think about.
Again, thank you all for the replies. Happy holidays, and I look forward to reporting back.

First time TJ trip on Labor Day WeekendThe beginner's guide is done, along with all of the SC reviews. I now return to studying for midterms. If there's anyone still here, here's a link to the guide. It's a little long.

First time TJ trip on Labor Day WeekendThank's y'all for the replies. I did not expect this post to get this much traction. I've decided that I will be going Sunday night, and maybe hit up CC on Monday before returning home.
@CJKent_band Thank you for the guide. I'll make sure to use it as I'm planning out the rest of my trip.
@TJ Walker Simple, but useful advice. Thank you. This post is what led me to choose Sunday over Monday (The homies wanna play video games on Monday night, so I'm going on Sunday xd)
@azfriole Thanks for the insight. I printed out an FMM form to be safe, but less hassle is always nice.
@Mate27 I'll keep your warnings in mind, but if you don't see me by Monday call the police /s
@623 I'll be sure to report back. Might not write until the weekend after though - have to keep up with school. Should I just respond to this post for the review, or make a new one?
Again, thank you all for your time and attention. I look forward to reporting back two weekends from now.
