These private lap dance clubs are fun because it is a more laid back atmosphere and less pressure. Most importantly, rather than professional stripper types, you get a lot of aspiring actresses and models and college students who just want a part-time gig.

The Bliss Club was an underground strip club where anything goes, including prostitution and gambling. That Club was closed down after the publicity from the New York Times article.
On the other hand, Saint Venus Theater (SVT) is really an alternative strip club, rather than an underground strip club. You can easily become a member by Googling the name and finding their web page and then you get emails with the party addresses. SVT is the largest of the alternative strip clubs and they have been operating for more than seven years. SVT now has competition from some other alternative strip clubs or lap dance parties, including Masked Nights, DHT and The Lido Room. These lap dance parties have rules and do not allow prostitution, drugs, and gambling. However, they can be a lot of fun.

Really sad to hear the news.
I am really surprised because it was a clean and well managed club.
There were more beautiful Girl Next Door girls at Lido then any club around.
I did not mind the cover charge because it was all inclusive and there was no upsell.

I can't believe there was a police raid at the Lido Room. Lido is one of the cleanest clubs in New York City. There are a lot of licensed security guards there each night. The dancers are "girl next door" types who are not involved in drugs, prostitution, or any illegal activity. There are no private rooms there and no opportunity for prostitution or drugs. The rules appear strict and the girls will not give out their phone numbers.

The Lido Room has Girl Next Door types with natural breasts, and the claim that Lido hired a transgender is just as ridiculous as the rest of these false claims by fake reviewer @cashmanjoo.

I spoke with a few former SVT girls at Lido and they all told me that they really like Lido and its management and would never go back to SVT if it ever opened up again.

SVT has been closed for more than 6 months. The new game in town is the Lido Room which has private events Tuesday through Friday evenings in Manhattan. Similar set up with a lot of early to mid-20's Girl Next Door types.

I like the GFE (Girl Friend Experience) you get at Lido, and the GND (Girl Next Door) types. The college girl party feel is a lot of fun.

I like slim, white college girls, and Lido is my favorite club in Manhattan.
I can also afford the admission which is now $50 per person, which is a good value as it includes a semi-private lap dance area and buffet dinner.

There are no "extras" to be had at Lido. Do not have to worry that the Club will be shut down or that I will be embarrassed when I bring clients there. Go there for the "clean" GFE of a sensual lap dance with girl-next-door type.

This is a very good review and I like the way it went into the comparison of some of the private lap dance clubs, including SVT which has a lot of young, hot 18 and 19 year old dancers. This review was in January when the Lido Room had just started their

1Chanman, thanks for the clarification. My first visit to the Lido Room was also in 2009 when Lido just started operations. However, I did not have the same experience as you did with any of the dancers. As I mentioned before, Lido has come a long way since 2009. At present, Lido has security guards watching the dance area and runs a very clean operation.

The comment from 1Chanman lacks credibility as well, as I doubt the guy was ever at Lido. Of the 24 clubs that 1Chanman reviewed, most of them are from Michigan and not a single club is from New York. I was at Lido more than once and there are no private rooms. I never saw any HJ, DFK, or fingering of dancers. There are no drugs and I never saw any blow. It is a clean and well regulated club.

It is obvious what we have going on here. RedJohnson joined in January 2005 and has no reviews of any clubs. RedJohnson is a shill for a competitor that is jealous of Lido and wants to smear its reputation. rattdog is completely correct that everything is out in the open and a BJ could not be performed, and that individual S__ would not permit that type of behavior. Further, based on my observations at Lido, there was a bathroom attendant monitoring the bathroom, as well as several security guards present. Lido is a very clean club. For those guys on this list who are looking for "extras", lido is not the place to go.
