Decent, but extremely overrated venue scene in my view.

I must say...I fail to understand the appeal of these so-called "roaming lap-dance parties." I actually like the grittier, grimier strip clubs. I go to strip clubs precisely to get away from the "girl next door" types that I have been extremely bored by in the past. If I'm at a strip club, I want to interact with the kind of girls I would probably never see or talk to in my everyday existence, not someone I feel I would actually date and have a "normal" relationship with, with all that that entails... but hey, maybe that's just me.

I have been to Lido all of twice, and I doubt I will ever go back. It's not that it's horrible or anything...just that, the way it's advertised, I would have expected a lot more in the way of hands-on contact. I don't know. Maybe I'm losing my touch. But honestly, I've never had this problem in the Bronx or Queens, or even some Midtown clubs...so anyway...on to the review.

The first experience I had at Lido was in Midtown. The venue was basically a hot, overcrowded pizza restaurant with three floors: the downstairs (main restaurant where the bathrooms were; not really in use), the mid section (where most of the lap dances took place and where the coat check was located), and the upper floor (which featured a bar area where you could talk to girls, and a few monitors showing sporting events). Basically, the whole vibe felt like an awkward college party, except that the girls were a little more forward and willing to talk. Personally, I didn't find this all that appealing really, as there were far too many guys per girl for me to enjoy my interactions.
