Several years ago I got pickpocketed by a dancer at Cheaters in Providence (which is such a repulsive dive that I should not have been in anyway). The strategy was to cuddle up in a dark corner; while doing so, she extracted the cash from the wallet. Amazingly, credit cards etc were intact, just all the bills gone. Strongly recommend keeping your wits about you, especially in the lower grade places. Essentially, don't take anything with you that you are not prepared to lose.

The reason for the low ranking of Providence clubs is, in my view, that taken individually, they are deficient in some way. Clubs such as Desire or Foxy Lady are more upscale but offer less in the way of additional services. Clubs such as the Cadillac Lounge and Club Fantasies may have more on the menu but the talent is less attractive. And clubs at the bottom of the barrel (you know which these are) offer an unattractive combination of any services, mediocre dancer quality, sketchy clientele and the opportunity to keep your medical provider in business for some time.
