It's over!! Well.. as many have expected or unexpected, this club has fallen victim to the same exact fate as all clubs on Michigan avenue in Detroit post covid It is officially closed with a for sale banner on the building. I last visited on a Wednesday evening around 10pm. Security was very respectful as usual upon entering. Once inside the club, it was a complete ghost town. Upon taking my seat I was approached by the now former Jamaican bar manager/owner. She began to haggle insisting I purchase "her" a drink. I always find this to be unprofessional, so I politely declined. After shooing her away, I was approached by the bartender who took my drink order. Upon returning with my order, the bartender obliged and made it known she was available for dances/vip entertainment. Seeing that there was only one other dancer in the entire club, I took her up on the offer. The dances were very mediocre to say the least, after ending the ordeal at 2 songs I quickly left the establishment, in search for better opportunities. I will not be returning and neither will anyone else, I have recently discovered that the establishment is officially closed with a for sale sign in the front exterior of the building. This club has also, like 95% of others on Michigan avenue in Detroit, been closed. Michigan avenue in Detroit has virtually no adult entertainment bars except one currently.

Let's be clear and upfront here. If you like being haggled, and rudely disrespected, then this is the place for you! Upon arrival, parking is free, and there is a $10 entrance cover charge. Upon entering, you will be patted down by security, who are very polite. Here begins the unnecessary hassle and hassle. Drinks are reasonably priced, bought a shot for $10. Upon receiving my drink, the bar manager approaches in a very disrespectful manner. She states that I must by HER a drink in order to stay sitting where I am. I ask "are you serious or joking?" She then rudely replies " what are you waiting for"? By this time I'm trying to avoid a scene. So I pay the $10 to shoo her away. No longer than 5mins pass, and I am approached by a very attractive dancer, with a very nice top and bottom. After a little conversation, she asks would I like to indulge in a few dances. We then proceeded to vip for the show, at $20 a song. I enjoyed. Overall the variety of women are decent looking with a few being above average. Some dancers will try and take advantage of customers by raising dance prices to $40 and above per song. Vip charge is $20 per dancer. Which is ridiculous, a one time wristband payment would suffice.Decent crowd, and crowded by 11pm. Make sure to steer clear of the disrespectful Jamaican manager.

Visited around 8pm. The parking lot was well lit and free. No fence but lots of video monitoring. A dude would security check for I guess weapon at the door and then lets you in. Bar on right side and tables on the left. There is small stage in middle. I saw just 2 or 3 curvy black girls working. Bartender was very friendly middle aged lady just loved her attitude. Ordered beer for $6, a bucket of 5 beers would cost $20. Music mostly hip-hop or sometimes Spanish. Dancers approach often and ask for drink or dance not too pushy though. Dance on a bench along right wall cost $10 or you can go to private room for $20 a dance. Restrooms are not clean but no toll there. Opted for a dance on bench. Forgot her name but she was in good shape nice D breasts and was good contact. Nice enough for getting you excited. Enjoyed couple beers but didn't find a girl of my choice so left after spending an hour there.

At a bit after 4:00 today I decided to pay a visit to Club Venus. I drive by there almost every day and was curious about it. I'd been in once, maybe about a year and a half ago and I figured it was worth a try. The parking is free, but they have a guard shack in the corner of the lot. I didn't see anyone inside the shack, but I presume there's someone keeping an eye on the vehicles. I entered and was greeted by a friendly door guy. There was no cover, so that was cool. The door guy took my temperature while B.S.ing with me. This is one of those places where they also want you to sign your name and give a phone number, so I scribbled the first name that entered my head and made up a number, then walked in. The first thing you notice about Club Venus is how small it is. Directly in front of the door is the stage, with the bar to the right. There are mirrors on most of the walls, probably to give the illusion of size to the place. I counted TV monitors and it seems to me that 12 TVs for such a tiny place is kind of overkill, but it does give the eye plenty to look at. Which helped, because there was no one occupying the stage. The club is not at all a run-down dive like some of the places around here, and honestly, it looks like they put a lot of money into it. I sat down at the bar and the attractive African American bartender got me a beer for $6. I saw no dancers for a while, and only one other patron. There was another guy eating at a table near the kitchen, but I think that was the cook on a break. The club has a very urban vibe and the music played was R&B and light Hip Hop - a bit louder than I like, but not too overbearing. A large dancer came from the back room and sat down next to me, introducing herself as Hope. She had a pretty face and cute hair, but was much larger than I like. After some chatting, she asked if I might be getting dances, and I declined. After a few minutes a small, short-haired AA dancer got on stage and began her routine. I couldn't understand the DJ to catch her name, but after her set she came by and introduced herself as Strawberry. I didn't want any dances, but I figured I'd get the info for you guys. You're welcome. According to Strawberry the dances are $10 each and are conducted out in the open, on the benches along the perimeter of the room. There is a VIP area, which costs $20 to access. I asked Strawberry what VIP dances cost, thinking it'd be $20 or $25, but she said it was whatever is negotiated. So I figure not a lot of actual lap dances go on in there. I finished my beer and excused myself and walked back out into the sunlight. I had been there for a half an hour and had only seen two dancers (although another was entering in her civilian clothes a I left). On the plus side, I had spent less than $10, so no big deal.

This is such an odd club. From the outside it looks tiny. If it wasn't for the fact that nothing is around it, it would be easy to miss. The outside of the building is nothing special, looks old, but not awful. The parking lot is really small, maybe fits 10-15 cars, but is free. Inside there is a entry room where charge $10 for entry and will do a safety check on you. Once you enter you almost immediately walk into the bar. It is normal table height instead of stools, as the bar itself is sunken into the ground. On one side of the bar is the bar sitting and some raised table against the wall, on the other side is the stage and normal tables. Overall it actually seemed pretty nice inside, a big contrast from outside. It also seems a lot bigger inside than it looked outside. The bartender is was smoking hot with dark hair and great personality. Drinks were $6 for a beer and $5 for a water. They had some random drink specials, but I drove myself so 2 beers and a water covered my visit. Talent wise, they had a few black girls, a few white girls, and one girl who was olive skinned. There were a few really cute ones, some definitely not my type, but not really any 10/10s. All the girls were friendly and conversed well. No one really interested me in dances, so I don't really know what the dance room is like nor the cost. For a Friday night, the place was empty. One of the girls swore it's never that bad, but it was the Friday after Thanksgiving so maybe that was the problem.

So after stale non-inspirational visits down in Inkster, decided to give Venus a try again as I haven't been here in probably five years or more. First, same small parking lot even though the building next door is gone. Parking is $5 non-valet. No cover to enter and no one dancing when I entered approximately 6:30pm. The inside is all newly remodeled from the last time I was here. Stage in middle and seating on both sides. DJ boot in far left corner as you enter, bar still in middle next to stage, lap dance area in back right corner separated from main area by what looked like a half-wall or 2/3 wall. I went to the left and sat on the DJ side where the entrance to/from the dancer area appeared to be. Was immediately approached with menus and a drink order. Waitress was surprised both times she returned that i did not want to order any food. Took a very lengthy time to get my change back as well for the premium glass rental holding my beverage of choice. Only saw two entertainers - one, white entertainer who looked younger (30ish) but surprisingly older (44) un-retired dancer, and the second was what looked like a younger AA (but I was wrong on the age of the white dancer, so who knows. The white dancer came and sat with me for a few minutes while I obtained an overpriced liquid beverage then took the stage for 3 songs I think. I moved closer to the stage and tipped for the appreciated entertainment factor. After she was done, the AA never took the stage and just continued to sit at the bar. The white dancer returned after coming off stage and we talked about dances, but I needed to be somewhere else. After inquiring as to where the dancers were now held at since the old back room area was gone, she pointed to those half-walled area. She said they charge a few for the area, don't recall if she said $10 or $20 and then the price of the dances which was the standard Detroit rate. So overall, the parking of the club is still very limited and sucks. The interior of the club is much improved and welcomed over what it was in the past when I was last here. Still not quite on the level of a Cricket, Subis, or Flight Club, but well advanced of Bogies, H8, or other Detroit classic dive bar. Entertainment is hard to rate. Both ladies looked attractive and seemed like they have good personalities. Given the location of the dance area, I would be highly surprised if anything more than a decent grind or hidden backwards handjob at most would be a possibility here. There was no hint of either by the ladies, just an observation on what I think could be expected at best. Odds are, this is nothing more than a go-go club with some OTP fondling to try to get you to the dance area where the fun is not likely to increase. As nice as the ladies were, I can't say i would go out of my way or recommend anyone to go out of the way to visit. Prices are just too high for the limited ROI. Maybe if I would ordered food my visit and experience would have been different and made the ROI and this trip seem more worthwhile. Nah, whom I am kidding. Sadly, without some more changes on either the pricing front, entertainment front, or both, Venus will struggle to get by in my opinion.

As title, the facility has been renovated. It is much nicer. There is only one stage now in the middle and the bar next to it. Dance area are in the back. It is just two long couches in the booth, very open. There was only 2 girls when I visited. One older blonde with big breast and a little chubby. Another one is spinner AA girls. Both were 4-5 at best. Dance price are $20. There are no way I would pay that much for those girls in an open booth. $5 for parking attendant, no cover. $7 for my drink. Only good thing that should attract customer is $7 lunch special (burger and fries with beer)

I went to this place somewhat often before they shutdown and remodeled. I decided to see what changes were made. There was a few hot dancers and a couple average ones. The beers are a really good deal at 2 bucks a pop. The food looked decent for the price. The club is now non smoking and the VIP is out in the open enough for no extras to be had. One girl who was there before the remodel sat down next to me and offered a dance, I declined but she did claim to offer otc fun.

Loving the new Venus... I never worked at or went as a customer to the old Venus. The way ppl speak on it... sounds like a straight up and down crack house. Anywho everything is brand new and clean. Staff is personalable. Dancer quality is for sure a hit or miss but every flavor isn’t for everybody. Good cheap full menu, half off during the day just like sister club Pantheon. This is basically a baby Pantheon with a mixed crowd and mixed music (black, white, Latino ppl & world music) I just can’t take to constant local rap at Pantheon. Half off drinks also during the day.. I don’t drink beer so I’m sure the beers are cheap 7 dollars burger and fries and 1 dollar whole wings everyday until 10. Come party with us!

Just another night in paradise at Club Venus Having been to a number of clubs, I have observed many different styles and methods that strippers use to ask for dances. My personal favorite is the laid back conversational approach. Even if I am not blown away by a girl's looks at first, I will still consider getting a dance with her if she has this kind of vibe (and I have). The girls that are laid back display real personalities; they act like a regular person. However there are many strippers that rely on cheap hustles and cheesy lines to peak a guys interest which I hate; they are not being themselves, putting on a persona and doing it poorly. Here are some of the things I've heard and how I have responded (or would've liked to respond if I wanted to be mean, which I usually don't unless they are way out of line): "Are you ready for me?" Me: never "Hey baby hows your night?" Me: pretty good "how about we go for a dance and make it amazing?" "Damn. You look bored, like you need a dance" Me: Im not bored. Im disappointed because I saw that your busted ass was walking over here. What would make my night is if you walked away and brought those fine ass girls over here that keep going to VIP and go bother someone else" "ok baby. This is what I tell all my guys. You know you're here to see some ass and some titties so this is what we can do: $40 for a nude dance and then I will go ahead and upgrade you to the VIP experience where we can get even freakier. At that point I will encourage you to UP-grade once again to the $300 VIP experience where my guys all come back for more after they experience that. But first a little about myself: I'm from here but then went to Vegas and then back here again, I've been here for 5 years on and off and am stacked, fit and freaky in all the right places." Me: I'm dead at this point because put a gun to my head and blew my brains out before she could get a response from me. (Read my review on California Girls in Santa Ana, CA for this very encounter!) -Many many times at any club when a girl I'm NOT feeling sits down with me/next to me: "Hey baby. How's your night?" Me: pretty good "You come here often?" Me: Sometimes "Where are you coming from?" "Are you coming from work?" "What kind of work do you do?" "What area do you live in?" "What do you like to do for fun?" Me in my head: OMG GO THE FUCK AWAY! Me: Im sorry, You're just not my type "Oh, well what kind of girls you like?" (she continues to sit with me and watch a girl dancing at the stage) "Wow, she's sexy, isn't she?" "So do like big girls, small girls, white girls black girls?" Me in my head: I like any girl but YOU. Take a HINT! Go away! Finally she goes away. I wish I could find a way to get those girls out of my life faster

Decided to checkout Venus, it’s the first time I’ve been there since the reopened, paid $5 for parking walk pay $10 cover get padded down then u enter the club. Take a seat in the corner and realize no girl on stage look around and I see one dancer sitting with a group of guys and one dancer hanging out at the bar, waitress comes buy takes my order and tells me only 2 dancers ther at the moment she brings my drink back and I watch the football game for a bit before one of the dancer ask to sit, I say sure and I recognize her from the old Venus days her name is mya medium high chunky blonde dancer we talk for a while and I ask is it Still a vip in the club and is it anything goes, she says the dance area is just a wide open area so no x-rated fun is to be had. She offered up her digits for otc fun but I had to get a couple dances before she gave me her digits. I declined finished my beer and left, overall th club looks good but it’s no extra fun to be had so I won’t be back.

Veteran mongers know all about the past life of Club Venus. Pretty much a run-down brothel, featuring larger ladies. Located next door to the infamous crime-ridden, human-trafficking motel, now gone. I swore I would never go there again, but I heard that it had been remodeled and reopened. I was somewhat near the area, with time to kill, so I decided to take a look. I was curious. First off, with the hotel gone, there isn’t much parking. I was there in the afternoon, and most of the spots were filled. Even have a new booth for the parking attendant! New front entrance, advertising that the Venus now has WiFi! The stage has been moved to the center of the room, adjacent to the bar, and it looks like all-new booths, carpeting — pretty much a complete remodel. Men’s bathroom has been remodeled, thank goodness. The former VIP area is still kind of there, two rows of booth benches, with tables, but much more open. I don’t see it being as “extras headquarters” as it was before. Overall, the remodeling is a success. The other good news? Beers for $2! They also had a multi-page menu for lunch and it looked like they had a $7 or so burger special. The ladies? They seem like the lineup before. One of the white ladies was very large — largest I have ever seen in a club, and had a few PAWG ladies and bootilicious AA ladies. It’s all good. I went back to the VIP with two of the AA ladies to see how things worked in the new club. It may be a while before there it is rampant sex acts done back there, but I was offered some light extras and received some OTC stick-shifting. The only drawback from my visit was when I paid for one of those $2 beers with a C Note, I received at least 50 $1 bills in change as if I was going to make it rain! The staff and the ladies were friendly, and the $2 beers were a real nice attraction. Pleasantly surprised! The price is right. I may come back again!
