I went to this club on the most off of nights. There were a few girls there and there was a variety given there were only six girls there. There were some pretty impressive dancing on the pole. This was my first trip to Mexicali. Just went there with bunch of friends on Saturday night. This is a much quieter town compared to Tijuana. Crossing southbound was a breeze as the parking is available right across the entrance. Besides, many of the clubs are within walking distance of the border. Miau Miau was one of the best places within walking distance. The décor and ambiance here is much better compared to their peers. On the other hand, they do not start early. About 8:30 - 9:00 PM seems to be when they start. So if you want to get back to USA within a reasonable time, this may not be the best option depending where are you coming from. After weeding through the available options, decided to try ariba. Unlike TJ, the place is just above the bar so probably operated by the same ownership. You go up through the stairs in the back of the bar. The usher kept on asking for more which was already included in our deal. When the circus was over, and I went for the shower, there was no shower head. Besides, there was no hot water. Still I wanted get refreshed so cleaned myself underneath cold running water. Of the 7 girls, 2 were very nice, 4 were acceptable and 1 was....lets say... less than acceptable. Private, but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of eyes around. No goons other than a guy at the door outside directing traffic inside. BTW, these guys speak good english and will help negotiate a price too, but make no mistake, he is getting a cut of whatever you pay, so it's not in his interest to get the girl down too low. They are good for pointing out the better talent if they are not on the floor yet...might be worth chatting the guy up if you are solo and non-Mexican speaking....better than flying solo completely I guess. One suggestion, if you speak Spanish, great...if you do not, you will probably pay too much. My buddy negotiated us down to half of what they were asking for our services and he kept the wait staff from coming around to harass us every 2 min for drinks plus the tip I gave. I'm sure I would have had a good time, but having someone who can field any questions or clear up any misunderstandings that come up goes a long way. Out of all the girls I think only 1 spoke passable english and it was not either of the girls we took back, so she probably would have won out by default due to her language skills vs her looks or other 'skills'...and lets face it we are not there to have a discussion about world topics. This club is a slightly longer walk from the border than La Tarantula. Prices are the same: water $3, beer $5, dances $20, FS $100. The girls don't speak much English, but that's not a huge barrier. Compared to Tijuana, Mexicali is more expensive and has much less choice, but it feels a lots safer to walk around, even at night, and there are no lines at the border. One other plus (which some might see as a minus) is that the clubs don't allow smoking inside.

Had been a while since I stopped in to Miau Miau. Economy is rough down there with, two clubs across the street(s) from Miau Miau (Kaos/Porkys) seemed to be closed. Was there on a week night. Iniitially only 5 girls working but the night shift was filtering in. A few very attractive girls were dancing and working the small crowd. Girls are always quick to ask for "privado" or a drink. I like the fact that not buying a drink while generally gets the girl to walk away, doesn't get you labeled as a cheap customer. That is the club's way of getting the girls loose and ready to party. There was nothing left unexplored on these young ladies at the end of our outing. Best not to drive in Mexicali after leaving a Strip Club. You will get pulled over by the Local Policia. Take a Taxi to and from the clubs. Can't wait till I get back again.
