There have been a couple reports here and elsewhere about people passing Lulu's in the evening and seeing the lights on. The previous time or two that I passed the lights were off but last night the lights were on so I stopped just to check. Front door was locked and there was no discernable sound or activity coming from inside and zero cars parked in front. That reinforces what I recently heard that the bar is closed and for sale and that Ken the owner has no intention of opening it up again. I suppose the lights are on as a means to make the bar visible to passing prospective buyers. My hope is that whoever buys it raises the bar regarding quality dancers and has the ability to improve on what's been there in the past and the area competition. An owner that has enough sense to not hire just any drug addict, fatty, or street skank that walks in the door, an owner that is customer friendly and doesn't require his dancers to extort customers for overpriced mini drinks, an owner that enforces some type of code to keep it from turning into a drug dealing hoodrat infested hole taken over by thugs as most of the other smaller area cubs are. Yes I know i'm asking for a lot but I still have hope! :D BTW, disregard the ratings, they're only there to get my rant published.

Lulu we hardly knew you. Headsup! It appears that there may be another casualty of Ohio's strip club laws and the lousy Cleveland area economy. After reopening following a long but slight remodel last summer it appears that Lulu's may be closed again. I was in the area the Friday before New Years, the eve of New Year's Eve and intended to stop here but it was closed. Being closed a weekend evening during the prime holiday season leads me to believe that Lulu's is out of business. Although I previously attributed it to Ohio's laws or the area economy considering the low dancer quality and relentless drink hustle found here it could just as well be that whatever customers they previously had were just fed up with this place and moved on. Purely my speculation. If I see it open again or find out any other info I will report back.

After being closed since last fall Bugsy's Cleveland has reopened as Lulu's. Same owner as before, same dive bar, same low quality out of shape dancers. I accidently discovered it had reopened when I saw the new sign out front as I was driving by so I stopped in for a quick look. The only possible actual change that I noticed was that the wall by the dance area at the end of the bar may have been slightly extended and the single chair for the dances looks like an old bus seat, LOL Also there's a gen X guy dressed in a suit acting as a bar manager, like wearing a suit will add some class to this low class club. I don't think so. I saw two dancers on this night and neither one looked good enough to spend money on. I asked the bartender if there were any more dancers and was told there was one in the back room but she never came out so I never saw her. The drink hustle is still here as one of the dancers sat next to me and asked that I buy her one, I declined but I wanted some info on pricing so I asked about dances. They are still giving plain view dances across from the stage for $10.00 and the bus seat is more but I forgot how much. It didn't matter because I wasn't going to buy dances from either one. So there you have it, the club is open and still a waste of time.

I keep hoping this place turns around to what it was in the 1980's and 1990's. Still only 1-3 dancers while I was there and there were only 3 patrons. None of the dancers were sociable until one finally came over to the empty chair next to me and immediately ask if I could buy her a drink. I know the dancers have a drink quota per shift. But it just turned me off. So i declined. Besides, she was not attractive, her hair was unkempt, and she did not have what i consider a dancer's body. Too big in the hips and the fold hanging over her too tight bottoms was not my style. Normally the only decent woman in the place is the bartender and even now she below average. I wish management would open their eyes and make some effort to hire only hwp dancers...even if they have to pay them an hourly wage, or else make the current dancers join a gym. What...no self pride? I ended up heading home to the tv after less than a full hour of hoping at least one cutie would emerge from the back dressing room. It was a disappointing night for a strip cub visit.

I've been here maybe 4 times since my last review including twice when they should have been open in the evening but weren't. I don't know what the reasons for that was but be aware that they might not be open if you stop by on a weekday. Like the previous reviewer said they did update the looks of this place a bit but it's still a dive when you consider the dancers and neighborhood and there's lots of construction and paving on parts of 25th St. I grabbed a seat at the bar ordered a beer and surveyed my surroundings. Eight customers and three dancers, a white one with a big midsection, a heavy black one, and a smaller white one giving a dance in the corner. I was talking with the guy seated next to me when a little commotion broke out at the end of the bar between the manager, the smaller dancer and the customer. I didn't hear the whole thing but it seems that the dancer was saying that the customer didn't pay her and he was insisting that he did pay her. The dancer went on stage and a couple minutes later the customer leans over the bar next to me and tells the manager that the dancer was trying to extort a tip from him even though he promised her that he was going to buy more dances from her when she came back off the stage. He was pissed and said he wasn't going to deal with that crap, said he was going to spend his money elsewhere and left. Seeing that she was the only decent looking one there and I wasn't interested in getting extorted either I decided to finish my beer and left also. Beware, the little dark haired dancer is a ROB.

Stopped in at the Cleveland bar after a years absence. Well they did some light remodeling. No more countless Marilyn Monroe pictures. The bartop dancing is gone as they removed the overhead bar and poles. Dancing is now done on the small stage. They painted the worn out laminate bartop, added some better over-the-bar lighting, reinstalled carpet over the old hardwood floors, and put up a solid privacy wall for VIP dances near the entry. Cover now is $5 (pricey for the neighborhood and dancer quality). The day I went, it was dead due to construction work on W. 25th that eliminated all street parking. So you either have to get lucky and find a space behind the building off the back alley (about 3 spaces), or park your car about 100 yards south in the Blood Clinic parking lot (after business hours only). The construction work is supposed to go on until the fall, so lots of luck. The 4-5 dancers were no better than a 4.

Stopped in over the holidays. They have new hours from 7 - 2:30 M - Sat. Nicest looking of the Clark/W 25th places but also the smallest. $5 cover to get in on this night (not sure about during the week). Girls were a nice mix from slim to extra thick, no 10's but only one that was a 5 or less. There were a few things that bugged me first that there was only one girl out on stage when I got there and the other girls took a long time to come out of back. Also dances are not private done right next to the main stage actually. Girls keep it covered for the most part not much nipple but got some decent mileage on some dances. Would probably come back since talent is solid and is the least craphole looking place in that area.

Driving by, I stopped in when I saw the beer sign on. Seems there was a food party. $5 cover. At around 9pm there were about 8 customers (sad). There were about 9 dancers, none above a 5 or worth even considering to ask if they worked outside the bar (even sadder). 3 were white and the rest were either hispanic or black. The two dancers I sat with were just drink hustlers, wanting either doubles or chugging down a drink in less than 1/2 minute and asking for another one so I stopped reaching out to any other dancers. The owner mandated 10 drink minimum per shift is what ruins the experience. I was told there was food out back, but I never stayed long enough to find out. For a night when food was provided as part of the cover, the place was nearly empty....and on a Saturday night too.<br> Mr. Business Owner: change your business model or sell to another new owner!

On consecutive nights, I tried to stop in on Sunday night and then on Monday night. Each time the door was locked and the lights were off. I guess the economic hard times, the low quality dancer hiring practices, the poor management of the dancer/bar staff, and the 10 drink dancer quota per shift that resulted in the dancer's "drink hustling" being their main priority, spelled the demise of this place. Its a shame, as the bar/stage setup was conducive to the dancers making tips. Hopefully, a new bar owner with a better business model will make a go of it.

I can't explain why but I gravitate towards the dives and then ask myself why I even wasted my time and money. Maybe it's because there's a low or no cover and no parking fee. Maybe it's because there are less customers, I hate crowds, I don't know. Make no mistake, Bugsy's is a dive! <br> I've come here on and off for 20yrs and other than the faces it never really changes. You enter and pay a 3 dollar cover, it might be 5 dollars on weekends and it's a very narrow club with a long bar down the left with a small stage at the end and seats along the right wall with a tiny shelf that sticks out from the wall to hold your drinks. The bar is so narrow that If you sit along the wall you will get bumped into by people walking by. The bar is dirty and dingy and the dancers are usually too usually rating from a 2 or 3 to an occasional 5. <br> Well drinks are 5 dollars, forgot beer prices, pop and water are 4 dollars. The most obnoxious thing about Bugsys is the drink hustle. The dancers are required to sell 10 overpriced watered down drinks or mini beers per shift which are at least 8 dollars a drink. That's 8 dollars for a beer that's around 6-8 ounces. One of the under 21 dancers that can't drink alcohol told me that they have a non alcoholic drink called a cocktail that's just some juice and whipped cream that is served in a tiny glass. The price? You guessed it, 8 dollars! Because of the 10 drink quota the dancers are relentless with the hustle usually pouncing and asking you to buy them drinks as soon as you enter so be forewarned. I'll have a more in depth review of the dancer quality or lack thereof in the future. <br>

3 of the 7 dancers were obese, 1 was about 8 months pregnant, leaving 3 with an average build. Even the bartender was hefty. The nicest dancer was a girl named Lisa, but she prefeered to sit at the end of the bar..and keep to herself. Not very socialable...or was having a bad day. The first thing a dancer said when she sat down next to me: "Can I join you?" and "Want to buy me a drink?" The girls have a 10 drink quota each shift. Sure hope none of them drive home.

Arrived just before 7, only 2 dancers, one sitting at bar and other out on patio for a smoke. Dancers started arriving at 7 and suddenly there were about 5. Another 2-3 arrived some time later but I was a bit distracted. Other than the flashy clubs in the flats they are typical, tall and short, thick and thin. Nice thing (in my opinion), didn't see any bolt ons, nothing but naturals. Stage dance may be bikini or topless or full nude, but lap dances are topless with pasties or in bikini ... although flashing and wandering hands are allowed and almost expected. After one dance on stage the second one the girl walks the bar to try for tips from the guys who like to sit at bar for a free show. Still there are the tight wads who won't give a buck. About midnight 3 guys showed up, walked all the way through the bar and sat in the chairs at the stage. Didn't order drinks (pissed off the bartender) and didn't tip (pissed off the dancer). The bartender told them to buy drinks or leave, and the dancer got dressed (well, put on her whole outfit, such as that is) and stood at the back of the stage. It took 10 minutes but they got the hint they weren't welcome. Birthday cake was brought out for one of the dancers who had refused to wear panties any time she was on stage, and there were plenty of times she came to the edge of the stage to give a really good show. Easy and casual place, friendly staff, minimal drink hassle, and very surprisingly no dancer-on-dancer drama!
