Bartender for the save
I had a few days off in a row so i had up the casinos. Did well and didn't want to just go home so i heard to mnyx in Groton. Its easy to spot of the road. Parking is free and well lit. As i enter, door man tells me no hats. No big deal and put my hat away. I come in, pay the $5 cover. First glance big area, bar is a on the right side. Two stages, one and one satellite. Went to grab a quick beer and scout out the talent. A Heineken was $8 and was asked if i wanted a glass or bottle. Bartender was sweet and had nice shapely booty. I got some singles and headed to the stage. There was only 2 girls on the floor and one girl on the main stage. One was Latina, curly long hair, curvy and big tits. She approaches me, i smile. As soon as she talks, i could smell a gross funk coming from her mouth. She was pretty but couldn't get over the smell. I declined the dance offer. Was able to find out the dances are $25 topless. Vip was an option but that is when i stopped listening, the smell was too much. I excused myself to use the bathroom. The bathroom is standard, not gross not nice either just standard. When coming back the Latina was on stage. A thick blonde approached me. She was telling me about the slow season. She was complaining that guys were cheap. Not sure why she was telling me. Then she offered me a dance. I said why not, that's why i came. Well, the dance was topless and she didn't allow any touching not even her thigh. I cut my losses after two dances. I went back to bar. The bartender was very tentative and we talked about basketball. I was impressed by her knowledge. After a few more beers, i ended up leaving a big tip for her and left. Not sure if it worth it for dances/vips but the bartender made it worth it that night
At the end, only one dancer. Ugh.
I had not been to this bar since it was renamed Crystal Blue. After reading what I felt was a pretty positive review here on TUSCL in which some dancer went to town on the reviewer for $80, I figured why not venture down to the former Ultra Violet. So off I went. The bar is exactly as it was under it's two most recent iterations. You can drive right past it if you are not paying a lot of attention. Enter the club, the bar is to the left, the stage is to the right. $5 cover. Roughly $6 for a beer. Entering the club, there was a mulatto "five" or "six" on stage, who danced seductively with a very interesting tendency to visually lick the air with her long tongue - clearly showing that feature of hers off. Her body was a five, her face a five, but her attitude and inference with her tongue action earned her a few extra dollars and put her on the "plan B" list as I sat and perused the talent. The next girl (a brunette) was easily a nine - by anybody's standards. Her body was near perfect, very attractive face, and she was in her early twenties. She easily could have made it on the "A" list in any strip joint I have visited in my forty years of visiting strip joints. I'm thinking, "what is this girl doing dancing in Willimantic? as she meekly came over and whispered "don't judge me, it's my first night." Now, her lips were moving, and she is a stripper, so I took that with a grain of salt. But, my determination to take this young dancer for a private dance increased ten fold. But, some dude had her locked down like a steel drum. She dutifully went right back to him at the bar as soon as her time on stage ended. The dancers dressing area was like a Cheech and Chong movie whenever the door opened. Even though the manager was continually trying to combat the stench by spraying the bar down near that area, the reek of weed was permeating the club. A somewhat chunky brunette with a very nice face and even nicer rack took to the stage. I enjoyed her dancing, and with the "first night" brunette locked down, I decided to take her for a few laps. Lacking any chemistry at all, it was very clear that our time behind the curtain was going to be limited as she imposed rule after rule about how things were going to progress. Plus she was getting really sweaty as she danced, so that wasn't fun by any stretch of the imagination. A blonde who looked like she should have been cast in "Trailer Park Boys" was on stage, and I took a seat. While not the most attractive woman I have seen dance (tons of makeup and a body without any curves albeit a fair set of breasts), she was very attentive and aggressive with her dances at the stage - nuzzling up and licking my ear for example. So I figured I would take her to the back once off stage. But then her boyfriend walked in and whispered something in her ear while she was in the middle of song two. She got up, took her stuff, and left. Not "left the stage." They left the bar to partake in whatever good news he had rushed in to share with her. The really hot young brunette went outside with the mulatto not-so-hot frizzy hair mulatto to smoke more weed. The chunky brunette sat by herself at the bar nursing her drink. I left because nobody was on stage and three of the four "dancers" had gone missing.
Another Thuesday evening
They open at 4 pm. $5 cover starts at 7PM. As you walk in, the door man is to the right. The stage is in front of you off to the right as is the men's room. The bar a large rectangle to your left open at the close end. Several large TV's are on the back wall. To the left past the bar is a nice patio walled off from the street. IF they put someone outside selling beer it would be perfect. Parking lot was well lit on my way out. Smoking hot bartender was working but was replaced by an Asian bartender. Was hot to watch her change behind the bar before she left. She gave some lucky bastard a nice long hug and was out I'm never that guy. The dancers are picking up there was a good looking Hispanic dancer and a very hot AA dancer, they use her picture in the ads. Six or eight dancers working on this day. Half could just have stayed home. One should not dance at all. In another spot this could be a very good club but Willimantic is not the best town CT. Dance are $25 for the first dance than $20 per dance. $5 goes to the house. They have three small cubes with a curtain to do the dances in. They do Champagne rooms here but I never had the will to ask about how much. I can not comment on mileage as of the two times I have been here the only one I would get a dance from, the AA girl who showed no interest in working while I was there. On a bright note draft beer is $3, bottle beer is $4. Shots are cheap for strip club prices and it looks like things are picking up.
First Visit Since New Name
It has been a few years since my last visit to the place so I never experienced it during the short time it had changed hands. There used to be a few girls that always made the stop worth it but not sure that is the case anymore. I arrived a little before 6 and there were 3 girls working. All were drinking at the bar with a handful of regulars so I wasn't approached by any of them. None were good looking but weren't bad either. One girl had a nice all around body but looks were meh. Another had a nice round booty and the other was nice looking with nice tits but not too impressive from the chest down. At first there were no girls on stage but think once it hit 6 they started a rotation. In the meantime the girl with the nice booty went into the LD area for which must have been four or five songs so that is a good sign. Eventually, the girl with the nicer body stopped by and after a brief chat we headed for the LD area. The first song was very uneventful so that ended that. Another girl with a slim, nice build and pretty face had shown up. She immediately sat at the bar with a few guys drinking so I decided to get another beer to see if she would break loose but she never did so figured it was time to exit since I don't live nearby. The overall atmosphere seemed pretty friendly but if you are not a familiar face, you probably need to wait it out or be aggressive with your approach, neither of which I am willing to do. I'll stop by again, even if it is just for a quick beer while in the area.
The definition of lethargy
I'm not going back to Ultra Violet. There is simply no reason. It is a ridiculous strip joint. As a matter of fact, it is ridiculous to classify it as a strip joint. Based upon my last three visits, I would call it a former strip joint that now has a couple of strippers who hang out there. It has an uncomfortable vibe to it, and I feel more than qualified to make that observation, having visited literally hundreds of strip clubs over the past three decades. The reason the bar is uncomfortable is two fold. 1) there are no strippers stripping. 2) there are a small cluster of guys who seemingly now own this bar who seem immersed in this place serving their own gratification instead of trying to provide entertainment for patrons. The past three times I have been at this club, I have sat at the bar staring at few other introverted guys whom are similarly dissatisfied with the lack of naked women vying for our (paid) attention. It is really weird and uncomfortable to sit around under those circumstances. There were two dancers on duty when I last visited (August). One was a brunette stripper who is there all the time, never gets on stage, and devotes her attention to a small bevy of regulars who stop in. The other was very attractive and young, but was 110% glued to an owner, who was clearly smitten with the idea of having a hot girl half his age laughing at his jokes, telling him he is handsome, and keeping him company. Which is great for him. But sucks for anybody (like me) who went out of their way looking for a hot girl half my age to laugh at my jokes, tell me I am handsome, and keep me company.
Nobody on stage. One dancer working. Another hiding.
Visited Ultra Violet around 6pm on a Thursday evening. It looked kind of closed from the outside, but it was, in fact, open. As I entered through the doorway, I was disappointed to see about six guys sitting around the bar doing nothing. That was it. I meandered to the end of the bar and sat down. And waited. Eventually a female bartender appeared from the ladies room near the entrance with what seemed to be a stripper. The bartender came to the bar, the stripper quickly went through another doorway (a second ladies room?) behind the stage near the DJ booth. The bartender apologized for the long wait, mumbling something about why she was in the ladies room with the stripper, and served me a long awaited tasty beverage. I sat at the end of that bar nursing my beer for what seemed like a long time, and then a second stripper appeared from behind me (from the outdoor patio). She was quickly scooped up by another patron and taken for a lapdance. By this point my mood had turned ugly, I was bored and tired of waiting for a dancer to get on stage. On observation was that, of the six guys in the bar, at least four seemed to work there. I say this because they stuck together near the cash register, and each of them went behind the bar at some point to look at a cooler that was apparently on the fritz before returning to their seat to rejoin their knitting circle. I finished my beer and left. In what seemed like an hour (it was probably twenty minutes), I never saw a girl get on stage. I gave the "Club Vibe" rating a two instead of a one, because my dentist doesn't serve beer. I game the "Dancers" rating a two instead of a one, because I could not call a dancer "Fugly" in this club, because I never saw one dance.

I Was Lied To
I was driving route 6 back from the Providence area at about 7:00 pm on a Wednesday evening. It was snowing lightly in the Willimantic area. I was a within a few minutes from Ultra Violet so as bad as the club often is, I figured I would call and see if they had many girls working. The doorman answered and told me there were a couple of girls in. So if figured I would stop and grab a beer and see if there was anything worth seeing since my last visit 6 months ago. When I pulled in the parking lot had quite a few cars in it. That was a good sign. No cover upon entry, now that was a bad sign. Grabbed a seat at the bar, service was quick by a fairly good looking bartender that I have never seen before. I counted 9 PL’s at the bar and girl dressed in street clothes. There were no girls on the stage. After I waited about 10 minutes I asked the doorman when the girls were the dancers are. He said “we don’t have any yet tonight”. I told him I called and was told there were two girls. He pointed at the bartender and the girl in street clothes. Yea, that is real funny! I said W.T.F. I put my beer on the table and walked out. I hate being lied to. I should know better that to have even stopped. This place and Lucky’s (aka Rockvenus, aka Sweethearts, aka Kahoots) are always the same, you go in hoping for something good and leave pissed off both because there never is something good and you still went in knowing better. But I did it to myself, I did not ask when I walked in so they stiffed me out of a beer, so who is to blame? I am.
