New Characters, Same Script
I had a long Saturday night and decided to see what was up at Night Shift, since I hadn't been there in about two months under the new ownership and since it has a reputation for being better on the weekends and I was able to get there early enough to see how the night would develop. Some cosmetic things have changed. They took away one of the large TVs. There are now only two TVs over the bar, plus one as a backdrop to the stage. The TV that was sort of above the bar and angled at the stage is gone. There are still the two small TVs towards the back of the seating area that were installed towards the end of the tenure of the old management. The TVs above the bar and one of the small ones are still TVs, but the large one behind the stage and one of the small ones are in-house feeds, showing a rotating slideshow of stock footage and menu prices. Is that an improvement? You decide. The new management is trying pretty hard on the customer service front. When I asked for one of the TVs to be tuned to the World Series, they were more than happy to promptly grant my request. Sky (the new owner/manager, I guess) has seen me once or twice, she circulates around the floor and checked in with me periodically. For the first time in a long time (or possibly the first time ever at Night Shift), I was asked to show ID and empty my pockets before even entering the building. Maybe this was a function of my not having been there in two months and new people not knowing me. Maybe you can expect it every time now. Who knows? But they were polite about it, it didn't feel heavy handed. Room prices are unchanged. 30/LD, 200/15, 350/30. Still nothing close to a bargain. They now have those little cards in display stands on tables (like GGC and Millstream) with room prices (they claim the prices are "industry standards", haha) on one side and promos on the other side. It's still very much a "do it at your own risk, it's higher than you'll pay elsewhere for what may very well be a dud" proposition. As always, my regular readers know I do not eat or drink at these places, but food and drink prices seemed to be, uh "industry standards" (read: the usual ripoff). You still get the nagging feeling ownership cares less about dances and would be happy to make most of their money as a restaurant. Which leads to the dancers, who apparently come to work for no good reason. One thing that seems not to have changed much at Night Shift is the rotating cast of dancers- here today, gone tomorrow. I saw only one familiar face from this summer (an eternity ago by Night Shift standards). There were about ten dancers working, I managed to put names to seven of them: Autumn is a short, slightly thick, mixed AA with straight black hair, very full eyebrows, and puffy cheeks that make it look like she just had dental work. Lava is a short, not too dark AA with tattoos on her upper sternum of a yin-yang and a Chinese or Japanese character. Victoria is tall and thin and white, with long dark hair in back but a bowl cut like Moe from the Three Stooges in front. Victoria has no ink that I saw. Victoria was the only dancer who was bold enough to go around asking for tips after her stage set. Yuma is a very fit Asian with a tattoo of a tiger's head on her right thigh. Yuma recognized me from last summer and we chatted a tiny bit. It seems she has correctly concluded I am not interested in a room with her but am good for a modest tip if she invests in a correspondingly modest conversation with me. Score one for intelligence and politeness. This was easily the best part of the night. Rose is a thin caramel skinned AA with distinctively curly hair and a leopard print tattoo on her left shoulder. Dana looks like a miniature Robin Givens. And finally, Stasi. (Short for Stasia or Anastasia, not pronounced like "Stacey.") Stasi is very pretty- a Caucasian mix of Drew Barrymore and Rashida Jones. Stasi has long wavy dark hair and no ink that I could see. She is very, very pretty. I made some eye contact, she took the hint. We chatted a bit, but there was no traction. It seems like she's one of those been-around-the-block dancers looking for the low-hanging fruit, and neither of us really budged- I wanted her to work for it, she wasn't willing to. She complained that dancing is a lousy job if the money doesn't rain down. She got called up to dance, I gave her a little tip, we gave a polite hug and parted ways. Oh well. Two changes worth noting, both of these changes are advertised in the club and on the website: 1) Monday is promoted as "Industry Night" with $20 dances and discounts on food. 2) The other interesting development is that starting November 8, Night Shift will be opening much earlier- from Noon, and staying open straight through until 2AM. I am more than a little curious to see what this will look like in practice for a place that has a reputation of not really getting started until 10PM even though they open at 8PM. Some may remember Night Shift originally opened at 6PM and they actually pushed back the opening time to 8PM because the first two hours were totally dead. I'm curious to see how many dancers will actually show up to work afternoons. Signing off, long-windedly yours, Kindofaloser

New Management - Not Bad…. Hidden Gem.
(Layout stuff / food stuff) (Boring shit) Stopped in after work to check out the changes since the new management took over. The club itself is fairly small, but that gives it a relaxed and intimate vibe. Of course it’s located in a industrial area, maybe sketch to some people who are from out of town there but honestly, I’ve been quite a few times and I can say that I didn’t feel like I was in any danger. Take that how you will. Free parking too since theres a parking lot, a bonus. I was surprised to see an asian chick runs it now. The stage is right when you walk in, with tables and chairs scattered throughout, and the bar nearby so everything feels close and accessible. Layout wise its the same. One nice touch since the switch is the two big flatscreen TVs over the bar, great for game day if you’re into that (I am, so its a plus). They were also putting out free food, which shows the new owners are really trying to make this a spot worth hanging around. They’re were playing around with the menu trying to see if anything new sticks. Food is pretty good too might I add. Bathroom was well kept. (Important shit / detailed review of the dancers below) (The good shit) As for the lineup, most of the girls I saw were solid 7s, majority African-American, with a good mix of white dancers as well. There used to be an Asian girl who was pretty cute, but I haven’t seen her recently. I do know that they fired all dancers that aren’t 21 or older according to management. About 6-10 girls the night I went. Underrated as far as talent goes. I ended up meeting a cute AA dancer who was easily an 8. She was definitely hustling, but not in a pushy way. We talked a bit before she suggested a dance. I jokingly asked, “What can I get?” (you know how that usually goes, vague answers at best), but I decided to roll with it. In the back (LD room), there are cubicle dividers and then one big room with a curtain. From what I’ve seen, the cubicles are the standard for basic LDs, but I must’ve been lucky because this time I was able to use the curtained room. Unless you get a VIP dance though, the curtain stays open. The dance itself was solid. Lots of contact, with some hand-guiding, and I was able to touch T&A (though not the “hardwood floors” if you know, you know). Major mutual touching and grindage heavy. LDK potential dance ngl. *I do want to note that during the dance it was alluded that getting VIP could open up some doors but ill stick to anything you want to know in exact detail in the PM’s.* I stuck around for about four songs since I was enjoying it. Ended up spending around $300 total, plus a couple shots at the bar (a little pricey at $16 each, but I had money to blow). Honestly, just from how steamy that lap dance was, I’d consider going back for VIP next time. Overall, the changes under new management are noticeable, better atmosphere, new TVs, more deals for blue light shoppers if thats your thing, and solid talent. Had a good time and would definitely return, I see a potential competitor for PHC.

New Ownership, Same Experience
Night Shift always seemed to be a place that should be doing better. It's clean, has a nice crisp decor (the bathroom could use a little work but it's perfectly acceptable), the wait staff has always been polite and attentive. There's ample parking (at least when I go, which is early in the evening on weeknights) and no cover. There's usually a security guy, but I've never been hassled. But somehow, unless there was an exceptional dancer with whom I hit it off, Night Shift always fell flat. The stage was often empty. The girls (not always my type anyway) were not proactive. (Although here and there a girl may hustle for herself, especially if she's new.) And dances are expensive relative to other places in town (200/15, 350/30, I don't price LDs- if I'm going, I'm going all in) so it really, really has to be worth it if you want to go for some excitement. Therefore, I settled into a pattern at Night Shift, which was buying a water (my regular readers know I'm not here for the food, but Night Shift does a brisk food business, you see lots of delivery drivers throughout the evening) and settling in with no expectations other than taking my mind off of my troubles. If something fun happened, that was a bonus. However, I was informed that Night Shift is under new ownership and management, so I decided to see what might be up. Not much is up. The website has a banner clearly stating the club is under new ownership. The same bartender and waitress were there, so that was nice. There's a new TV screen (kind of poorly placed in the back of the seating area) with a rotating display advertising the new ownership, saying they are in the process of making improvements (what those are is anyone's guess), listing room prices (which are unchanged from the previous ownership), and soliciting feedback (here's some feedback, lower the room prices). I was told that the new ownership got rid of dancers who were under 21. The dancers who were there on this visit were all AA and all uninspiring. Perhaps the new ownership will make substantial changes yet. I can't tell what those changes might be. So at best, that's TBD. As always, the girls are the product, and neither the offerings nor the prices have changed on that front, so nothing to get excited about.

Sunday Night Strikeout
I was in the mood for a little fun on Memorial Day Sunday and figured I would give Night Shift a shot. Night Shift is right off the highway in a very industrial sketchy part of Baltimore. They do have a private lot with a cop standing outside so no worries about parking. I was able to walk right in with no cover or ID check. The place is fairly small, stage is on the right, bar along the back wall, tables and chairs scattered around. I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a beer for $9. There were two girls visible. One was white, and very attractive, probably an 8. The other was black and not my type, maybe a 5. Only a handful of other guys around. After a few minutes, the white girl came over. We chatted for a while before she broached dances. Individual dances were $30 each and VIP was available for a higher fee. I opted to start with a couple of dances. She led me to a back room where the dances are communal but the seats have privacy dividers. The place was basically empty, so we were the only ones back there. I wound up getting two PG-13 dances. Touching T&A was allowed but there was just no energy in the effort. Despite her hotness, I couldn't justify any more dances or VIP. Shortly after I returned to the bar, the white girl got on stage and did a 3 song set. I sat at the rail and tipped some singles. She got topless and flashed the pussy but never took off the bottoms. After her set, I hung around another 10 minutes hoping for reinforcements but none came and I gave up and left.

pleasantly surprised
Living in DC, clubs are pretty expensive, as either they don't have cover but expensive drinks or dances are ridiculously priced. So, I liked that there was no cover and drinks were cheap. I only got Red bulls, which were priced at $6 (Good Guys charge $12 for same) but I assume other drinks are fairly priced. I arrived around 10PM, the club was not too crowded and initially the girls were to themselves. As the night went on, more customers came in and girls also became more engaging. There was a good mix of races, with I think 1 black girl, 3 white girls and the rest were mixed. all natural bodies but a few girls with big booty. I also liked that dances are priced per song as opposed to packages in DC. $30 per song is still expensive but compared to DC and accounting for the quality of the dancers, which I would rate at 6 and above with a few 8 and 9s, I am okay with paying a bit more. I would say I found the dancers younger and prettier than at Good Guys. I wasn't planning on spending much but couldn't resist Yummy's big ass. She wanted me to pay $40, claiming that $10 is a tip for the security guy. I didn't and only did one song because she would only get nude in the other VIP area for $200+ for half hour (I don't remember exact pricing). She also told me no extra available here but shared her Instagram... She quoted me a ridiculous amount; so, not exploring further... Jai, the bartender that night, is also a dancer. she also has a nice body, beautiful ass. also got her instagram... early in the night, girls would not get fully nude but there wasn't much tipping too. so, i don't blame them. Yummy also wouldn't show anything when she came back on stage around 1 am; she was busy with many other guys getting dances from her... But because I tipped a lot, she showed me the kitty upon request. overall, club is nice and clean with a chill vibe. I was able to tip girls coming to my table and squeeze some ass a bit; so, although the managers are present and looking, it is not as strict as in DC when you are being watched and can't touch unless you get a dance. would definitely come back when I am in Baltimore.
