Night Shift always seemed to be a place that should be doing better. It's clean, has a nice crisp decor (the bathroom could use a little work but it's perfectly acceptable), the wait staff has always been polite and attentive. There's ample parking (at least when I go, which is early in the evening on weeknights) and no cover. There's usually a security guy, but I've never been hassled. But somehow, unless there was an exceptional dancer with whom I hit it off, Night Shift always fell flat. The stage was often empty. The girls (not always my type anyway) were not proactive. (Although here and there a girl may hustle for herself, especially if she's new.) And dances are expensive relative to other places in town (200/15, 350/30, I don't price LDs- if I'm going, I'm going all in) so it really, really has to be worth it if you want to go for some excitement.

Therefore, I settled into a pattern at Night Shift, which was buying a water (my regular readers know I'm not here for the food, but Night Shift does a brisk food business, you see lots of delivery drivers throughout the evening) and settling in with no expectations other than taking my mind off of my troubles. If something fun happened, that was a bonus. However, I was informed that Night Shift is under new ownership and management, so I decided to see what might be up.

Not much is up.

The website has a banner clearly stating the club is under new ownership. The same bartender and waitress were there, so that was nice. There's a new TV screen (kind of poorly placed in the back of the seating area) with a rotating display advertising the new ownership, saying they are in the process of making improvements (what those are is anyone's guess), listing room prices (which are unchanged from the previous ownership), and soliciting feedback (here's some feedback, lower the room prices). I was told that the new ownership got rid of dancers who were under 21. The dancers who were there on this visit were all AA and all uninspiring.

Perhaps the new ownership will make substantial changes yet. I can't tell what those changes might be. So at best, that's TBD. As always, the girls are the product, and neither the offerings nor the prices have changed on that front, so nothing to get excited about.
