I’ve posted 316 reviews on TUSCL since I joined in 2014, and in my first 10 years I averaged about 30 reviews a year. However, I’ve really cut back on documenting my travel mongering, and this year I have not posted a single review. Most of the clubs I visit now are ones I’ve reviewed multiple times and are regularly reviewed by others, so what can I say that hasn’t been said a thousand times before?
I’ve followed the recent discussions about the rather precipitous decline of clubs around the country, and I’ve definitely seen that myself. Too many ROBs, GPS girls, nickle-and-dime schemes by management, etc. I, too, fear that this mongering hobby of ours will come to an end before I’m ready for that to happen.
That said, I recently had a very enjoyable return visit to Henry the VIII Lounge in Inkster, Michigan and wanted to share some info and thoughts. My intention with my review is to provide a great deal of info for anyone thinking about making a first visit there.
The review is so long that I thought about submitting it as an article, but since I get pretty explicit about what’s available there, I thought it’d be better to submit it as a review to keep access restricted just to VIP members. Some adjudicators will probably reject it for being too long, but I’m hoping not everyone will. If you’re a VIP member, please look for it in the queue of reviews to be adjudicated, and if you like it, please approve it. It will be my last review of this club.
