With the new site layout, it’s super easy to glance at current numbers. So I will update. Yes the formatting is ugly, but I literally used cut+paste onto a crude note taking app. The first number from a state represents from 2008, the second 2020, and the third as of July 2026.

This means in the past 6 years, there has been about 15% less clubs after Covid.

Unless I missed one, it looks like only California, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Oregon actually had an increase in the number of strip clubs from 2020 to 2026...
One thing though not all of those listings are strip clubs. If you did just strip clubs I think it's even less.
Very interesting nicespice. The declines from 2008 to present day are significant. 1 in 4 clubs have closed.
Good update. Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey seem consistent with my experience.
Its just the tip of the demographic change. As America has become poorer, fatter and less white 60% of the ski areas open in 1970 have closed. We are done with baseball, hotdogs and apple pie and replacing them with gaming, avocado toast and beignets.
Agree with Muddy. Plus there are way more closed clubs that still show as open on the listings. Some clubs no one has tried to even go in years and hence there is no one to update the status

Strip clubs are a slowly dying artform just like physical retail stores. Young girls these days are too lazy to go hustle, guys are too introverted to leave their house.

When I first started going to strip clubs in the 2010 to 2015 period, I would have long-time strippers tell me business never really recovered after the 2008 housing crash. I could see with my own eyes later on that the negative economic effects of the Covid lockdowns also ended up hurting strip club business. Your statistics for Indiana, where I live, look accurate. An upcoming AI stock market bubble bursting is likely to lead to a further decline in strip club business. In addition to economic factors, there are also cultural changes contributing to the decline. I think there will continue to be at least some demand for strip clubs, though.
Wouldn't it be cool if we could sneak through a constitutional amendment apportioning representatives in the House based only on the number of strippers in a state. Woo-who, strip clubs on every street corner!
