New York is perhaps not the best place to hit a strip club. But I've had fun nights here, and thought Saturday night would be a decent opportunity to do so again. I was sadly disappointed. I hit four different clubs, and tried a fifth, but didn't have enough of an experience at any to leave a full review. I figured I'd just drop some notes here since I do have some basic numbers and whatnot.
I started at Larry Flynt's Hustler Club on the west side. This was my first time at this club. I arrived around 9:30pm. They let me in without a cover. The club was empty. It was large for a Manhattan club, but it was completely empty. I went up to the rooftop terrace and found a few people, mostly couples dressed like they were at a night club. There was a DJ playing rave-adjacent music. It was a nice enough terrace, though the view was mostly of the highway.
I hung around for ninety minutes taking in the view and then reading my phone. I saw a total of three dancers. One was beautiful and actually danced on stage, but then she vanished. One came to talk to me. I agreed to a dance ($40) knowing she had fake tits. When her bra came off, it revealed scarred nipples and medical tape under her boobs covering what I assume are new scars. Really unappealing. The dance also had no touching at all, not even hips or the sides of her legs. I was underwhelmed. One other dancer got on stage thirty minutes later, but she was unfit and I wasn't disappointed when she also vanished. I gave up and left.
I walked across town and stopped at Flash Dancers. The cover there was $20. There were people here -- quite a few customers but only a handful of dancers. The dancers were attractive enough, but it wasn't the parade of gorgeous women I remembered from my last visit. I got a dance ($20) from a cute Queens native that was awkward, but mildly charming, and one from a tall woman who said she was from Russia that was perfunctory ($30). Not much going on and not many dancers, so I left again.
I swung around the corner on eighth and stopped at Rouge (which is listed here as Satin Dolls, but the name has changed). They were closed.
A slightly longer walk downtown took me to Rick's. Cover there was $20, though I'd picked up a free pass so I didn't have to pay it. The club was similar in activity and number of dancers to Flash Dancers. The few dancers that were there were all artificial. I got one dance from a very curvy Latina ($30). Her fake boobs were almost as badly done as those at Hustler. I'm not sure which of us was more bored. The doorman/host was nice.
By this time I'd been at it for hours, but I was right there so I popped next door into Hoops. I had been there just the night before and had a good time. Sadly, I ran into the same state of affairs as elsewhere -- a handful of really pumped up dancers. I saw one natural figure I might have gotten a dance from, but she was busy. I gave up.
I try not to have expectations. But I'd just had a pretty good Friday night and I've had fun at some of these clubs in the past. But instead of large numbers of attractive women giving decent dances there were handfuls of meh women, mostly artificial and mostly not well done, giving poor dances. I would have thought that at least one of the clubs would have some fun, but no such luck. Overall a disappointing night.
At least I got some steps in, I guess.
