I noticed that Gold Room is doing $10 Thursdays. I usually stick with Knockouts but was thinking of checking this club out. Just to set my expectations, how do they compare? Are the dances similar to Knockouts? Are they out in the open or in a separate area? Similar policy on touching/nudity?

Knockouts is ghetto trash. Lots of latinas and barely and english, and not the hot kind of latina either.
Gold Room is way better, better diversity. My last time there (i should write a review) I was treated like royalty for no reason. We got free access to the VIP level (off to the right upon entrance).
The waitresses also double as dancers in the VIP. If the average at Gold Room is a 7, all these waitresses are an 8. However, their dances are like 30 mins minimum, iirc. Way better attention from dancers in the VIP. Waitresses sit and talk with you, very pleasant, very good conversation.
Best dancer was a blonde russian girl, no accent. Very handsy, sensual but not true GFE (maybe on later visits). Didn't do any waitress dances.
Hottest girl at Knockouts barely rates at Gold Room.

Gold room has 10$ dances on most Fridays as well, you can sign up for the texts on the website to see when. Waitresses do go topless in champagne rooms, but it’s a bit more expensive than the minimum for dancers, I believe 100$ extra? Not sure as I’ve never tried, but the waitresses are mostly very beautiful, especially the ones in the vip bar/seating area
