I agree do not sign for something. If you have the cash and can buy a used and gift it to her, go ahead. Make sure she handles the registration and insurance. If the dancer has an LLC, it may be tax deductible. That is a gray area of the tax code.

how did she end up in a situation where she doesn't have a car to begin with?

once you buy her the car, she will constantly turn to you to a) get it insured b) get it repaired c) get the maintenance done -oil changes etc. d) give her gas money d) handle any traffic tickets she will get

it's a bold gesture, and i'm sure she'll appreciate it, but it will become YOUR albatross. so you'll end up with the upkeep of the car AND giving her money for dances and VIP on top of that.

One stripper in particular that I well remember would wreck a car every few months. I did not help her out with her cars in anyway. but she's still does owe me $2400 for her boob job that I loaned her money for. She skipped out on that.
