I don't think much about the British Royals, but Prince Andrew had a bad day today on his 66th birthday, and I bet he has not fallen asleep yet.

The BBC thinks about the Royals more than I do, and they concluded an article about him being arrested, and waking up to the fact his brother the King is not going to pardon him, with the following paragraph:

"Andrew celebrated his birthday 12 months ago as Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, Earl of Inverness and Knight of the Garter. Who knows what will have changed by his next birthday."

Up until last week his biggest worry was his brother moved him into the house at the Marsh Farm, which he found to be unsuitable accommodation. Today he was in a cell with only a cot and a toilet. And no Royal Wiper.

This was for giving Epstein confidential information about British Trade. He may yet face additional charges about underage girls.

He supposedly shared trade information with Epstein. Prince Andrew was a trade envoy. I don’t know how strong the case is, there’s not enough info to say. He was also accused by a woman who said she was “trafficked” to the Prince by Epstein when she was 17. He settled a civil case with her. She subsequently died. Seems unlikely to me that criminal charges will brought related to the girl if it hasn’t happened yet. Be careful about the young dancers out there. It’s not easy to tell a 17 yo from an 18, 19 or 20 yo.

I understand he was charged for improperly sharing trade info. However, he shared that info to get access to the girls, no?

I read he was sharing it with Epstein to get his opinion/advice on investment opportunities in Afghanistan (maybe?). Both Epstein and the Prince may have had more sleezy motives. When the Epstein story first came out a few years ago there was a theory that he was a Mossad agent and he was compromising world leaders with a honey trap / blackmail scheme using underage girls. I don’t think that’s ever going to be provable at this point.

I’m reading Red Sparrow now, so I’m intrigued by the honey trap / blackmail stuff. Great book btw.

I don't think we know enough about the trade information accusation to form a firm opinion yet.

But this stuff with the 17 year old is looking very bad. WTF could he have possibly been thinking? He was already 40+ years old, so it's not like he was a young man who made a mistake with an almost legal girl. He had a shit ton to protect - he should have known better. There had to be plenty of women willing to sleep with him just to get close to a royal. Why would he allow himself to be so exposed to a guy like Epstein?

It was probably exciting.

Wealthy or famous individuals probably have plenty of sexual opportunities us average guys do not have. It might be hard for some of them to resist temptation. Just because someone is rich does not mean they are smart or have good judgement. Prince Andrew just inherited his position. Another individual caught up in this, Bill Gates, had some family connections that helped his career. Epstein himself seems to have had the ability to charm some wealthy people but there is no sign of exceptional intelligence in anything he ever said or did.

I don't have too much interest in the whole Royalty thing, but I do find it interesting that now they're looking to officially remove Andrew from the line of succession to the throne. Seems like that would be automatic after being stripped of his Prince title.

Shit even Clinton knew to distance himself from Epstein and that guy couldn't keep his willy in his pants to save his life.
