I counted it up a few months back. Only Strip Clubs, Binkini bars, did not count vietnamese coffee shops or massage parlors, or adult stores. 1533 but who knows what's still open on the listings and what's closed since I counted.
Around the recession it was about 2500 so down about 1,000 from then. I do notice a lot these rural clubs have been really going down. I think there is a floor to this though, I mean some of these clubs I go to are still packed out the wazoo, there absolutely still is a big demand just I think it's the sc world is going to get a little denser. I think it'll be similar to restaurants in these big expensive, the chains will survive but he mom and pops can't hold on. Those beat up dives you walk into where there's only a bartender, a small stage in the corner and 3 fat dancers, your the one of two customers, I think those places are going the way of the dinosaur. You gotta think where is the money coming from to hold those places up, the math just don't work.

What you describe is certainly the case in Indianapolis. The beat up dives that existed here when I first started going to strip clubs about 15 years ago are mostly all gone now. Over the last four years I have noticed among the remaining strip clubs a decline in the ones with dayshifts. There is still enough demand for at least several strip clubs to be open at night in this city. I think this level of demand will continue.
