Crickets Lately

It’s been at least two weeks between I saw any new TJ reviews. It’s awfully quiet here. Is the lure and excitement of going to TJ starting to wear off for guys? I hope it’s not. To me, while there are plenty of valid gripes, especially about HK’s inconsistency with pricing and their girls tending to overcharge lately, there’s nothing in the States that comes close to the Zona Norte clubs. Anyone has a theory as why things are quiet here?

Maybe because of the policia... bandits with badges harassing tourists and people in general... And you already mentioned the inconsistency of prices of girls and also the new rules that are created by management which are inconsistently applied...

But I do agree with you there's nothing in the states that comes close to the zona norte clubs!

And of course the lack of Ronjak's contributions lately... I guess he didn't feel appreciated enough here.

@Jascoi is spot-on that the drastic increase in shakedowns has had an effect. After my last few visits earlier this year, I'd argue that they're worse and more prevalent than even 12-14 years ago, which in my opinion was one of the worst periods in memory.

Another big factor is time of year, at least for myself and several others that I know. I've been averaging 10-12 TJ trips for many years, but one thing is always consistent: come year-end, with the official start of Q4, business travel usually keeps me too busy and too far away, at least until the start of the new year.

@jascol: I miss hearing from @RonJax2 and @PutaTester. They both have a lot of experience and insight on the ZN scene, and they would offer their commentary basically every day. Hope to hear from them again soon.

You, along with @TimmyTrumpets9, also make good points about the shakedowns the TJ police have been doing at an alarmingly increasing number this year. Haven’t been to TJ since May, but when I was there I took extra precautions walking in the area. I walked with a purpose because I knew where I was going, and the police never stopped and searched me. But yeah, I could see where newcomers might get discouraged from making further trips if they get shaken down by law enforcement.

It has certainly cut back my visits.

@ OPIllini96, @Jascoi, @RonJak2 Currently I am in Ensañada with ATF3 for two nights. Spent two nights in Tijuana with ATF1 and a friend of hers. Will be posting about some of my adventures when I return home next week.

I have two reviews and an article I had planned to write from my visit last week in Baja California Mexico. With the new format, I don’t know if it will be worth my time.

Tell me that this new format is just a bad dream. Please!

Hey @PutaTester and @Jascoi, FYI @RonJax2 is no longer active here - he’s on Reddit now. Clicked his TUSCL profile and that’s what it said. Too bad, he’s a good guy. I think the vets here like the three of us enjoyed reading his contributions, but I get a feeling he wasn’t appreciated by many. IMHO, Ron will be missed.
