Are you a fan of the tip parade?

More of a northeast thing but not exclusively.

Pros: The club sort of comes to you. You don't have be proactive, they'll come on over. And it kind of breaks up those 2 hour conversations with their regular customers, they have to keep the rotation going. Also because of the tip parades, usually low to no covers, you can pop in to a bunch of jersey clubs, na I don't like it and get the fuck out, without paying anything, that's kind of nice to be able to do.

Cons: I think it keeps some girls in the game that shouldn't be working. Also if your there for a while it can really be a drain on you. I'm not the kind of guy that hangs in out in one club for 4 hours, not my thing. I guess you could always say no, but it's kind of taboo.

The key is that if you’re there for a while it can be brutal, as you mentioned. In the Jersey standard, the Pink Palace, it’s easy to burn through $20+ in about the same number of minutes. There it is not uncommon for one girl to try to collect a dollar for the waistband, a dollar for cleavage, and a dollar for the other side of the waistband. You have to be firm and decline to pay anything more than you want, and difficult as it may be, learn to say no when the same girl comes around for a second visit.

Yeah I keep to 1. I notice some girls who didn't just dance (if the parade is outside the bar) they will try to take a lap. Nice try lady.

No such thing happens in New England and I avoid Jersey just for that reason. The last club to have that type of scene in New England closed 20 years ago.

I'm not sure how a typical tip walk works. There is a club in Forest Park GA(Atlanta) called Rumors. The dancers there will walk around on top of a rectangular shaped bar top stopping at each customer and expecting to be tipped. I have learned to not sit at the bar when I go to this club. I don't like tipping fuglies.

No.

I get what you're saying about it not being all negative but for me the cost isn't worth it. I am the kinda guy who will hang out for a few hours, and it can be a big drain on the wallet. I don't find that it enhances my ability to get the attention of the girl I want, I find it often makes it harder to get rid of girls I don't like though. And I tend to sit and chat with a stripper for an extended time, I find that the tip parade interrupts that both from the perspective of having some chick coming over every song or two asking for money and from the perspective of her taking a lap after she does her stage set.

The double dip girls are a problem down here in south Florida, I don't notice it as much when I'm traveling but it might be just me not noticing versus it not happening. I don't see covers being lower in places that have tip walks either, or any other prices really.

But all of that isn't really what makes me dislike it. The biggest thing is that I feel like it subsidizes shitty dancers at the expense of good ones. Shitty can be really be anything, ugly, lazy, dumb, rude, whatever.

To shadows comment, I don't mind it so much when the tip walk is limited to a certain area. Tootsies has a little "tip walk" just outside the main stage, Cheetah and Showgirls, among other places, used to have a the girls walk across the top of the bar after their set on stage. You can/could avoid it by simply sitting elsewhere. Most of those places you can't really tip the girl while she's on stage, so it feels like a reasonable compromise.

Don't have it in my area. Sure miss the 'dollar' dances my club used to have. No problem giving a dollar or 3 for a mini lap.

A dollar or two per girl isn't a big deal. You get to see all the talent and see who you like

I experienced it once at a club in the San Diego area. The club required a membership which was purchased at the door. Since I was from out of state and just passing through the area the bouncer let me in without a membership, but he asked if I needed some singles. I said that I was good. Little did I know.

I immediately saw a dancer going around the stadium seating area collecting tips in her garter and placing them in a bucket. Another dancer looked like she was finishing up collecting tips and a third dancer was walking away with her bucket. It seemed that without warning another dancer would appear with a bucket. You could easily burn through a stack of singles. I was not about to tip any dancer that I haven't seen onstage. I made my way to the crowded bar area as it was off limits.

I found the atmosphere there to be an annoying rip off. No thanks.

I agree with the anti tip walk crew. A now closed bar had the girls walk the bar top to collect tips. I just sat at a table to avoid them as most were hags but when I saw an attractive dancer do that walk I would get up and go tip her. My money my choice.

Thankfully we don't have much of that procedure around here.

A dancer coming off the stage after a set circulating around the bar and actually engaging with patrons while collecting a buck or two is awesome
The tip walk at Jersey places like Taboo and Breathless is a whole ‘nother thing. Relentless. Multiple dancers on stage who come down and circulate in platoons. Other dancers just hanging out fall in behind them, so there’s no end of it And, TBH,, one so-so Latina in her 20s doesn’t look that different from another until I’ve gotten to know them, so it’s hard to tell when you’re getting double dipped

Not a fan. Clubs and/or dancers that try to control how I spend my money are just asking for me to spend big bucks……………elsewhere. Now, I don’t so much mind if it’s confined to one area, like seating that’s reasonably close to the stage, for example. But customers trying to do something else entirely like talk to another dancer, enjoy a beverage in peace, or whatever, shouldn’t be constantly interrupted when they sometimes haven’t even been looking at the stage. I’m willing to spend some serious jack in a club on the right girl, and also generously tip the right people, so I don’t appreciate being nickeled and dimed on top of that…

No. There were a couple of small clubs in Chicago suburbs where I first encountered this. The tip parade made up for a lack of tipping since these clubs were ignored by high-spenders and there was no nudity. Bikini bottoms and pasties at a minimum.

The first was Uncle Paulie's pub. The dancers there would go customer to customer asking for a donation to the jukebox. The other was Pirate's Cove or something like that. The tip parade was just that. A younger dancer once pulled her shirt down a little and leaned forward when asking for my tip. With small breasts there really wasn't anything to see, but she angrily told me that the next time she showed me her nipples I need to tip more than a dollar.

Before the advent of lap dances and the CR in New England there was the "dollar dance". Basically, a preview dance at your bar side seat or table. Rhode Island was famous for it, but even Mass. clubs like the old Magic Lantern had them. No extras, but way better looking girls and an inexpensive way to strip club.

I hate this about the DMV area. So many tip parade clubs in that area.

And in response to "The club sort of comes to you. You don't have be proactive, they'll come on over"... in a good club they do this for free 😂

Not a huge fan of it. Haven't experienced it in over 12 years, last time was Cheetahs - San Diego. Other one was Diamond Dolls - Pompano in the 90's. One occasion was positive in that I got introduced to the best dancer of the night there, mostly an annoyance.

Personally I don't like the Tip Parade but it's there at some clubs... even in Mexico at Tropical bar. I don't mind so much if it's just the girl that's been on the stage. But when all of them or most of them line up every few minutes for a tip parade I don't like... I really don't like that.

I don't mind it. The very limited times I've experienced was low hustle short mini lappers and then they left. I also don't recall the girls being all over the club, only in close proximity to stage.
