Are you a fan of the tip parade?

More of a northeast thing but not exclusively.

Pros: The club sort of comes to you. You don't have be proactive, they'll come on over. And it kind of breaks up those 2 hour conversations with their regular customers, they have to keep the rotation going. Also because of the tip parades, usually low to no covers, you can pop in to a bunch of jersey clubs, na I don't like it and get the fuck out, without paying anything, that's kind of nice to be able to do.

Cons: I think it keeps some girls in the game that shouldn't be working. Also if your there for a while it can really be a drain on you. I'm not the kind of guy that hangs in out in one club for 4 hours, not my thing. I guess you could always say no, but it's kind of taboo.

The key is that if you’re there for a while it can be brutal, as you mentioned. In the Jersey standard, the Pink Palace, it’s easy to burn through $20+ in about the same number of minutes. There it is not uncommon for one girl to try to collect a dollar for the waistband, a dollar for cleavage, and a dollar for the other side of the waistband. You have to be firm and decline to pay anything more than you want, and difficult as it may be, learn to say no when the same girl comes around for a second visit.

Yeah I keep to 1. I notice some girls who didn't just dance (if the parade is outside the bar) they will try to take a lap. Nice try lady.

No such thing happens in New England and I avoid Jersey just for that reason. The last club to have that type of scene in New England closed 20 years ago.

I'm not sure how a typical tip walk works. There is a club in Forest Park GA(Atlanta) called Rumors. The dancers there will walk around on top of a rectangular shaped bar top stopping at each customer and expecting to be tipped. I have learned to not sit at the bar when I go to this club. I don't like tipping fuglies.

No.

I get what you're saying about it not being all negative but for me the cost isn't worth it. I am the kinda guy who will hang out for a few hours, and it can be a big drain on the wallet. I don't find that it enhances my ability to get the attention of the girl I want, I find it often makes it harder to get rid of girls I don't like though. And I tend to sit and chat with a stripper for an extended time, I find that the tip parade interrupts that both from the perspective of having some chick coming over every song or two asking for money and from the perspective of her taking a lap after she does her stage set.

The double dip girls are a problem down here in south Florida, I don't notice it as much when I'm traveling but it might be just me not noticing versus it not happening. I don't see covers being lower in places that have tip walks either, or any other prices really.

But all of that isn't really what makes me dislike it. The biggest thing is that I feel like it subsidizes shitty dancers at the expense of good ones. Shitty can be really be anything, ugly, lazy, dumb, rude, whatever.

To shadows comment, I don't mind it so much when the tip walk is limited to a certain area. Tootsies has a little "tip walk" just outside the main stage, Cheetah and Showgirls, among other places, used to have a the girls walk across the top of the bar after their set on stage. You can/could avoid it by simply sitting elsewhere. Most of those places you can't really tip the girl while she's on stage, so it feels like a reasonable compromise.

Don't have it in my area. Sure miss the 'dollar' dances my club used to have. No problem giving a dollar or 3 for a mini lap.
