That's the thing, I've never been to Tootsies but I don't want my first experience to be a bad one just because I went on the wrong day at the wrong time.

If your concern is that all the girls will be taken at 8pm, don't be. It's Miami, 8pm is pretty early. You may have to spring for the upstairs VIP if you're smitten with a particular girl, but that should be the worst of it.

If you gave us more to go on in terms of what you were looking for, we might be able to provide a better alternative. But for all its flaws, Tootsies remains the easy reco for out of towners looking to experience the Miami strip club scene. If for no other reason than to have it as a measuring stick for other clubs.

So, to summarize. You don't need to worry about 8pm being late, it's Miami. 8pm is early. If anything, it's maybe a bit of a dead-zone between shifts.
