I guess most of you saw this, but discuss here...
.
To maintain our community's integrity, over the next few weeks, we will be taking our enforcement of our community guidelines to the next level. We expect that only a minority of our users will be affected by these enhanced measures:
.
Real-time Warnings: Messages suggesting transactional or compensated dating will trigger an immediate warning, giving users the opportunity to reconsider and align with our community guidelines.
.
Educational Penalties: Our system will proactively identify and address behaviors violating our community standards. Users ignoring our warnings and violating our guidelines will undergo an educational video and quiz, coupled with temporary account suspensions (24-hour initial suspension, escalating to 48-hours for repeat offenses). Additionally, penalized members will experience restricted search visibility with newer members for seven days post-suspension.

^ what? You don’t want to give a girl $500 and pay her rent while just taking her to dinner at Benihana?

Are they going to restrict the women for "messages suggesting transactional or compensated dating" as well as the men? When I was using it, women were almost always the first to bring it up.

^ Compensated dating, isn't that exactly what the "arrangement" is? As in the whole point of the site?

It was and it really still is. But for the last few years they've been rebranding it as more of a traditional dating site. By all reports I've read, they're running scared of potential FOSTA-SESTA charges. But they know who their bread and butter customers really are.
.
Don't buy the spin that this is taking enforcement "to the next level." For the last few years they've actually been banning accounts for life that were too explicit in messaging, with no recourse or appeal. No doubt they intended to use it in their defense if they became the target of LE.
.
The introduction of intermediate steps short of an instant ban (educational video, quiz, temporary suspension) is likely a response to financial pressures to retain more of their good paying customers. They can still claim that they took steps to curb illegal activity while keeping more of those paying dudes around, at least those who learn to move those conversations off the site, lol.
.
I was wondering how long they could keep shooting themselves in the foot before they needed to find a more calibrated approach. Now we know. They can't actually compete as a real dating site - the mainstream sites are light years ahead of them in both technology and market penetration. So since there isn't a limitless supply of dudes out there willing to shell out $100 a month to be on a clunky site/app for "luxury dating", something had to give.

^ is this just a heads up that people start writing in code on their messages?
Example:
Dear Summer would you like to 🍸 🐒 🛌 for 💰💰💰💰
Translation:
Dear summer would you like to have sex like two drunk moneys for $400

@shailynn: I think the message is to not have those conversations on the site at all. In other words, move it off the site pronto.

I never had "those" conversations on seeking itself. Whenever anyone brought it up, I'd suggest messaging elsewhere. If they declined, I tended to block them. I got banned anyway when they first started cracking down, even though I'd never initiated such a conversation on seeking itself.

GMD they might have banned you for something else. They dont provide the reasons for the banning, I believe…
