Strange invite

Avatar for dannyboy3

There is a dancer that I've known over a year now. We are friendly and I spend on her, but not a ton. A couple of dances here and there, a drink once in a while.
A few weeks ago she mentioned her birthday was coming up and then yesterday she invited me to join her and her friends to celebrate at a restaurantand gave me directions. There was no otc vibe and I have never asked.
Anyone had a similar experience?
Seems weird that a friendly acquaintance gets an invite like this.

She probably wants you there to buy her and her friends drinks.

@Dannyboy, what shadow said. And likely food too. She wants a wallet along to hook up her and her friends and you've been nominated for the job. 😉
.
If I were you I'd pass.

I had similar. A month ago I was at my local SC. A dancer I’ve spoken to before asked me if I go to night clubs. I said no. She asked me to go with her and her friend and told me I would be the only guy coming. I said why what’s your angle and why not ask another mark. She replies with “why not?”

She said she and her friend would pay for their own drinks and all. No real follow through on her part to make it happen (I didn’t say up front I don’t do OTC as this is a fun social experiment).

To me, seems like it an effort to get more $ out of you. But maybe my perspective is too narrow, limited to my generation/social circle. I think of birthday parties as being mostly for school-age kids, and not something you throw for yourself. I'd make up some excuse about having to be somewhere else.
I had an OTC fav who would invite me to outings with other dancers. But it could be awkward, as my fav was opinionted, and didn't heck with the other strippers as to whether it was OK to invite any PLs.

To add onto Rick’s rickvice, I would pass on this and also stop spending on her ITC…

At the same time you could show up to the restaurant, and if they ask you to pay, refuse.

Maybe its not to get you to pay, maybe they need someone to take the role of the gay guy in the group

She wants you to bust in every hole of her and her friends for no pay all night long.

Assume strippers lie 100% of the time. I take nothing they say as factual or reliable. Cynical? Yes. Correct? Most probably.

Its not just strippers doing this. If a girl isnt interested in you she'll bring an uninvited friend on a date or invite you to hang out in a group so you pay. Its fucked up but not just a stripper thing

Shadow is definitely right, she wants you to pay for the night out. McLane is also right - consider yourself honored that you're one of her favorite customers, or at least the least sketchy.
.
However, it could be a really fun night and totally be a worthwhile expense.

About 10 years ago I had plutonic relationship with a stripper who was a TUSCL member thanks to me. (Avalons07 was her handle.} We occasionally went out to dinner when I was in town. Sometimes I paid. Sometimes she paid. I had been to her house several time and she had even been to mine. But no sex other than some high mileages ITC.

She had bought a brand new house in the suburbs and decided to have a birthday party for her dog and invited me. I was up for it. What could be better than a private party with a bunch of strippers. But then she decided that she didn't want a bunch of drunks wrecking her new home and rescheduled the party for some bar. Would they let her dog in? Anyway that lost my interest and I backed out.

I dont think its impossible for a stripper to want to date clients or older man or something like that…. But this scenario would be a red flag even if a non sex worker invited you to it

You could always go, your not obligated to pay for everyone, you can run away if they demand you pay for everyone at the end

I should mention that I didn't go. I was just surprised at the invite. She's one of the least money grubbing dancers I know. We hang out when it's slow and she never pressures me for dances beyond a want a dance tonight? check in.

When I was younger and in my prime I had a few strippers invite me to platonic dates or some thing they had going on. Of course that was very much an exception, out of many many interactions

I don’t know, you said she’s not the money grubbing type, she probably has some hot friends, seems fine?

Come on. Theres no upside to being invited to go with a group. If a girl likes you she wants to be alone with you. If her friends are hoes she wants them as far away from you as possible
As for platonic dates. That's what you do with female friends. The key word being friends

I suspect she was hoping to cage some drinks, but doesn't mind my company. I know she has a guy that drops 300-400+ a week on her, so I'm not the sugar daddy target.

The way I would play it is say I can't make dinner. Then text her about two hours after her birthday dinner and see where she's at and what she's up to. I'm totally fine with meeting a birthday girl at a bar and buying her (but not her crew) a drink. If you know her order you can just buy it without discussion when you get your drink and hand it to her.

Strippers often have fun friends. A lot of them are strippers or ex strippers. Or they are the kind of girl who is fine being friends with a stripper. A guy doesn't want to be seen as an open wallet, but there are worse ways to spend a night than buying hot girls a few drinks.
