There is only one club remaining in Gary, Knockouts. At one time, Gary had a half dozen. I'm a white male and have frequented the Gary clubs for years without any problems.
Does it bother you?
There are no high class areas in Gary, I stop in that area to get gas before returning to the People's Republic of Illinois.
There are no protected or higher class areas around there, but I never felt unsafe at any of the clubs. Unfortunately, like inmonger mentioned there is only one club left there so I haven't been back to the area in a while.
