Why does the webmaster keep changing this site all the time?

Avatar for FrustratedInTheUS

Almost every time I come to this website there are constant changes to the layout, fonts, etc. In this latest change the reviews are arranged like cards. Last week it was some weird font change everywhere.

Why is it necessary to keep changing this site every few days? Why can't you just leave as is it for like a year? The site wasn't bad at all before all these changes, and in some ways even better.

He fondles strippers until he runs out of money. Then he wanks till his dick is sore. Then he codes to keep his hands busy until he either has more money or his dick heals. Or, at least that's my theory.

Did you pay to use this site, or just do a review 1x/month to get a free ride?

Sure, it morphs now and then. Be thankful that reviews are adjudicated by VIP members, and this website blows away all others.

I'm thankful @Founder puts in what he does.

You can be thankful while still hoping for improvement. The lack of paragraph spacing, the clunky rejected reviews burying actual useful info, the inability to access old reviews without going in manually, the constant unnecessary layout changes.

This current iteration of TUSCL is probably the least user friendly as anything you actually need to know is obscured by spam, pending, and rejected reviews.

Use the "ask founder" tab at the bottom of this page to message him privately and ask him. Maybe show some class and gratitude while you're at it.

Agree 100% with OP. The constant tinkering is unnecessary and kind of annoying. It’s fair to call this out. No need to defend Founder’s honor.

Don’t try this at home, kids, all changes are made using experienced professional web designers and make no claims as to the accuracy of this web site.

I've expressed the same concern to @Founder in private.
Let us get used to it. Ask us what we want. Update on a schedule.

It is seriously annoying sometimes when a feature that’s been quite useful. It’s pulled and replaced with something that’s completely useless.
It seems that founder uses the web development as a hobby or proving ground to test unfamiliar techniques.
But for 20 years or so I have kept coming back and figuring out how to get the most out of Whatever changes have been made, and it works for me. At some point, it might not work for you and you may decide to get your info elsewhere.
It’s weird how our culture and society seems to demand change in everything we do, then when the change happens, the first inclination is to bitch and moan. Curious.

I've seen this site change many, many times over the years. Most times for the better, but there have been a few not so nice changes. Overall though, there's been steady improvement AND accommodation for user requests. That which doesn't change stagnates and dies.

Be thankful founder actually listens to users.

GMD thats not necessarily true. Change is not a requirement to avoid stagflation. Id say its more like that which doesnt get used stagnates and dies. If the site is organized, formatted well, there may not be additional changes needed. But, you may need to update the site 10 times, or 20 times, before you actually get to the point where further changes are no longer needed

I think founder enjoys tweaking it in hopes of improving it. I guess you can say he can't leave good enough alone.

To be honest, I'm just assuming founder runs his life the same way I do.

Q: if I want to skim reviews in chronological order, do I go down first column and then to the top of second column? Or go left, right, left, right ...

BTW, many changes I dislike because they are not what I'm used to, but then get comfortable and happy with the new system. Founder, I'm good with continued experimentation.

^ I think I'm in agreement with ArtCollege's dilemma, as posed in his question above.

I generally love this site and appreciate what founder has created and continues to update. I am happy to try the new features and get used to changes, but I gotta say, I really dislike the reviews being listed in columns. To me, this change is not helpful at all.
