Hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires

Avatar for gammanu95
gammanu95Have you ever tried to stick a silver dollar into a stripper's G-string?

I'm wondering if any clubs will escape impacts from Hurricane Milton. Such a stupid name. Hurricane Milton's current forecastt path has Oz and a lot of other clubs in the Tampa Bay are facing a 10-15' storm surge and major Hurricane winds in an area which hasn't been directly hit in 50-60 years.

2-3 years later, all of the Fort Myers clubs except Fantasies on the Beach survived Hurricane Ian. It is being rebuilt as Vixens on the Beach.

Any guesses or experience in how the Tampa area clubs may fare?

Hoping the UFO perched on top of 2001 Odyssey doesn’t actually take a short flight…

The clubs will need to issue a bunch of "Mae Wests" for the less endowed/enhanced. I just hope everyone has bugged out by now.

I'm supposed to be in the Orlando area for work in a few weeks. Was planning to drive over and hit the clubs in the Tampa Bay area. That might not be such a good idea at this point.

I always thought you were older?

Everyone my age who had fathers who served in WW2 knows what a Mae West is

When I was younger, I heard a flight attendant joke that "your Mae West is under your seat". Old people chuckled.

I was born in '76, very end of Gen X cohorts. I knew Mae West was in the original "King Kong" film, and that is about it. I googled her to see if I could find an applicable reference and learned she was more interesting than just the original final girl in the original kaiju film.

It was an inflatable lifejacket worn by Navy Pilots in WWII. It was called that because "It squeezed you."

My dad had one as a souvenir of his service - I always thought it was cool!!

Most accounts seem to indicate that, while Milton was bad, it did not have the same effects that were feared. There was less storm surge and precipitation than forecast on the West Coast, and more tornadoes and storm damage on the East Coast. My sincerest condolences to anyone who is suffering as a result of any 2024 Hurricane, but there is also a sense of relief as Milton was forecast to be much worse. From a TUSCL perspective, some east coast clubs may have taken the worse hit.

Gam - Marilyn Monroe was 6 or 7 when King Kong was filmed in 1933. Fay Wray was the female lead.

LOL, figures. I've never been a fan of kaiju films or oldies.

A dancer at the local club in Asheville said it will probably take a year to reopen due to flooding from Helene
