To ban the sale of soft core magazines on military bases. ie Playboy and Penthouse. The sponsor of the bill says that these kind of magazines can lead to sex crimes. Who voted this idiot into office? Show me the facts. # one, what is to stop the GI's from buying it off post? # two, you do not need a new law for this. Back in 1964 when I was based in Japan, the sale of these type magazines was banned on base because the base commanders wife did not approve. # three, prove that reading these magazines leads to sex crimes. Maybe there would be less sex crimes in this country if others did not try to force their morals on the rest of us.

Hey, Look - If 59 million people vote for Republicans, what do you think is going to happen ? Very few Republicans any more seem to be from the Libertarian side of the party, and very many of them seem to be from the "Ministry for Propagation of Virtue and Suppression of Vice..." If the banning of magazines from military bases (don't most soldiers get their porn on the Internet, anyway ?) is the worst bill introduced this year, then I will be happy...(and amazed..)

The congressman probably has one or more rich prudish constituents who talked him into introducing this totally worthless bill. The good news is I don't think it stands a chance of being passed.

This is ok because people can get better pictures from the internet for free. If Congress is debating this bill there is less time for them to screw up something important

It's no wonder congress has a lower approval rating than President Bush. They are worthless or getting closer to it for not dropping such a stupid bill in the first place. If someone wants a magazine they can just go off base. It's nice to know one congressman thinks he needs to babysit our military men because they aren't old enough or wise enough to judge for themselves what they think is ok. Ok that was sarcasm if someone didn't get it. I'd like the congressman who proposed the bill spend some time patrolling Iraq as a serviceman and then see if he still believes in restricting tiny little things some of the military guys may buy in their free time. If he does then he really is an a....

On the other hand, maybe this is a good thing. Let our worthless congress waste more time debating and proposing bills that mean nothing in the end. That way they can't screw up the rest of our economy any worse than it already is. Lol, if this bill isn't dropped, I can see the headlines now. CONGRESS declares sex magazines on military bases is the biggest problem facing the US economy. Stock market rises 200 points relieved that the credit crisis and bad economic news is behind us.
